12.01.2022 Citipionte Kindergarten highlights: The Emu class has been learning about famous artists that lived many years ago. We learnt about Vincent Van Gogh and the Emus followed instructions and used oil pastels just like Vincent to draw one of his most famous pieces called Wheatfield with Crows. They then painted a Van Gogh painting called sunflowers. ... The emus enjoyed this so much that we set up our own art gallery in our room with a front desk, ( covid safe). Entry of art gallery where the children have been role playing welcoming each other in the gallery taking payments. The children can buy artworks in the gallery and have a look around at their own art work which is hung up inside & then stop at the cafe inside the art gallery. We have been extending on by then learning about the artist Pablo Picasso Using textas the children drew their own version of Pablo Picasso inspired artwork And then had a bit of fun doing a Pablo Picasso profile painting, we watched a video on Picasso and his artworks then did this fun painting. We had to lay on the paper and trace our profile of our face then paint it. We have not just learnt about artists from overseas but also from home Australia- many indigenous artists. Painting Australian animals. Lots of learning and fun was had by all!
