11.01.2022 Its great to see and hear how the Try Local Cash initiative is reaching both our community and business owners. Senior coach of the Karratha Kats John Wellington recently spent his $100 Try Local voucher and had this to say: Try Local Cashwhat an easy, effective program. It was super easy to access and spend our $$$ and a great experience rewarding a local business in this way! My partner and I treated ourselves to a night out at Bollywood Lounge which we knew would have ...done it hard during COVID-19. All in all I think this program is a great success for a town in which small local businesses play such a massive part in our community. If you havent spent your $100 Try Local voucher yet - youve got 20 days left so get out there and support local

06.01.2022 Todays #MondayMemory is from Point Samson. Bill Miller of Point Samson was an enterprising man. He briefly used a Bristow Helicopter to transport banana prawns from the boat to the truck, which sped up production from barge to factory. The operation was very successful but when Bristow shifted from Point Samson it was not viable to have a standby helicopter on site. For more great historical images of the Pilbara check out the Community Archives at http://karratha.spydus.com/! #LocalHistory #PointSamson #BananaPrawn
