06.01.2022 In August 2020, a $30K budget was included in Councils Integrated Business Plan and Budget to construct the Mens Shed. The City of Adelaide is working with a small group of community members and service providers to develop a draft concept plan, which they hope will receive the necessary approvals for construction towards the end of this calendar year. A Mens Shed Committee has started with three volunteers confirmed and beginning to develop their constitution. Council w...ould like to invite you to attend a stakeholder drop in feedback session at the Joinery on Monday 14 September to provide your thoughts on the draft concept plan and find out more about the project. Sessions will take place from 11.30am-2pm & 4.30-6.30pm, if you are interested in getting involved with the Committee and helping to shape the inside look and feel of the site, opening times and the services offered, Council members would love to chat further with you at the feedback session. To meet COVID-19 restrictions, numbers will have to be managed, so if you would like to attend, please RSVP Tom Beales [email protected] to confirm your attendance and which session you will be attending. 03.01.2022 Due to the unfortunate situation we now find ourselves in, with a lockdown of 6 days and possibly longer, City South is suspending the Christmas Cheers gift voucher program for now. In the best case scenario, if cafes and retail can trade again by next week, then we will aim to run the two-week redemption period from Mon Nov 30 to Sun Dec 13 (with vouchers sent out on Thu Nov 26) Ideally we are not wanting to run it any later than this due to the proximity to the busy pre-Ch...ristmas period. If it is not possible to run the program before Christmas, we will be running another program post-Fringe in late March/early April 2021 and will give the current program's participants first option to be involved. Thankyou for your understanding and stay safe everyone! See more
