Imanee uses her strong leadership skills to provide health programs for the Kalgoorlie Girls Academy at Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School. She shares information with the girls about sexual health and how to navigate healthy relationships, while providing a safe space for them to seek support.... Imanee regognises the great importance of talking about these issues. He uses his passion for sport to set a good example for other young Indigenous people, encouraging them to get involved. Tyrelle has played a major role in the planning and delivery of innovative projects that aim to engage and support young Aboriginal people. He is currently collaborating with other youth outreach workers to deliver projects... for disengaged youth. 12.01.2022 Youth Award Highlights Joshua is the coauthor of the book Sustainability in your Backyard. He was lucky enough to pitch the book idea as part of a workshop run by Millennium Kids and won prize money to put towards publishing. Recognised for his dedication and hard work, Joshua is setting himself up for future greatness; recently being awarded sponsorship to attend the ConocoPhillips Science Experiment at University. A great achievement!... Recently, Joshua and his brother took it upon themselves to enter the First Lego League. First representing Kalgoorlie in the Regional competition, they finished high enough to be invited to compete in the national competition. While Ellee is hard at work studying for her ATAR, she is also dedicated to training almost every day of the week to compete in National and International cheerleading competitions. Ellee has suffered major setback with personal injury, however showed great dedication and perseverance for herself and her team. 11.01.2022 Congratulations Paige Paige has been volunteering since the age of 14! She has given her time to lend a hand with a multitude of local community events. Paige is also a volunteer mentor for Coder Dojo autism workshops. On top of this, Paige is the founder of local not-for-profit initiative; Sparkles and Twinkles Goldfields Inc. Through this organization she offers unique, tailored programs and activities for special needs children to be delivered at events.... 09.01.2022 Congratulations Taysharn Taysharn is an inspiring young Aboriginal woman and a role model for young people doing it tough. Taysharn has been a part of the Headspace Kalgoorlie team for two years, starting out as a volunteer and then moving on to full time employment as a Youth Outreach Worker. Taysharn works hard to connect with the local Indigenous community and break down the barriers young people face when seeking help. She has done this through developing a number of suc...cessful youth engagement programs. Taysharn has also taken up study this year of a Certificate IV in mental health. The Western Australia Police Force is looking for applicants to join the Aboriginal Cadet program Applicants must be between 17 25 years of age and of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander decent.... Cadets are paid during their training and will earn a nationally accredited qualification (Certificate II in General Education for Adults).
