24.01.2022 [For the English version see below] 40... 1640 198091640 An announcement from Nagoya City 40th Anniversary of the Nagoya-Sydney Sister City Relationship Today marks the 40th anniversary of the Nagoya-Sydney sister city relationship. Since the sister city affiliation between Nagoya and Sydney began on 16 September 1980, the two Cities have had a dynamic sister city relationship that has seen active exchange across areas such as education, animals, culture and sports in the past 40 years. Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, travel between the two Cities is currently restricted and regrettably, planning for celebrations in the two Cities has been suspended. Against this background, the City of Nagoya has created a poster that features four sister and partner cities which Nagoya celebrates a special milestone with during this year. The four sister and partner cities featured on the poster are Sydney, Turin, Taichung and Tashkent. The aim of the poster is to celebrate the special relationships between Nagoya and its sister and partner cities, and to connect the citizens of the sister and partner cities. The City believes that the simple action of keeping our friends overseas in our thoughts can lead to the creation of a better world. The City of Nagoya hopes that together with the people of Sydney, we can overcome these challenging times together as we continue to strengthen our ties, and looks forward to recommencing the interactions between the two Cities in the near future. #OvercomeCOVID19 #TogetherWeCan #Sydney #Nagoya #SisterCity
