25.01.2022 Different Paths: Pathways to resolve relationship and family matters #clairenaiduandco #resolve #familylaw #mediation
25.01.2022 We don't get harmony when everybody sings the same note. Only notes that are different can harmonize. The same is true with people. http://www.clairenaidu.com.au/index.p/relationship-harmony/ Not all relationships progress in the same way or at the same rate. They may be different from the relationships that have been modelled to you or your relationships may be different with different people.... It is okay to be different, difference can create harmony. Harmony can be created when we learn how to work together with the differences and develop something new and better. Todays quote is from Steve Goodier of Life Support System and it celebrates the harmony that can be created from difference. We dont get harmony when everybody sings the same note. Only notes that are different can harmonize. The same is true with people. If you hear different notes in your relationships and want to create harmony, we would love to hear from you.

23.01.2022 I was fortunate to grow up near tennis clubs and had the chance to play from a young age (throwback attached ). Gungahlin is closing in on 100,000 people and... has no proper tennis facilities. I delivered racquets to hundreds of kids last year and tennis is pumping but they need courts and clubs to play at! Gungahlin needs tennis facilities so the kids of tomorrow can fulfill their dreams too they deserve that opportunity. Everyone should get behind this! NK Foundation - Giving Dreams A Sporting Chance #Tennis4Gungahlin whod like to see this happen? Share it around and comment to show your support for grassroots tennis! 21.01.2022 Changes in relationships can create great uncertainty. However, when things become uncertain, an opportunity is created, an opportunity to use the uncertainty to become clearer on the things in our lives that are really important. #relationships #resolvedisputes #conflictresolution #clairenaiduco #clairenaiduandco #interpersonalrelationships #resolveconflict
20.01.2022 I have included the link to Justice Jagot's speech on the rule of law and reconciliaton. It was about 4 years ago but it is still worth a read today. He made the speech as the Opening Address to the Law Society of New South Wales Young Lawyers' Conference on 20 October 2017. https://www.fedcourt.gov.au//justice-jagot/jagot-j-20171020

19.01.2022 While reviewing the Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner Regulations today I noticed that they were made by the then Governor-General Quentin Bryce. You may recall that she was the #firstfemale to have held that position. It would have been one among one of the first regulations that she made - these regulations were made on 18 September 2008 and she just became the first female Governor-General on 5 September 2008. #interestingfact #clairenaiduco #clairenaiduandco #disputeresolution #canberrabusiness #resolveconflict

18.01.2022 Meet Mariah Tennant-Breust. Mariah is a Family Lawyer at Claire Naidu & Co, Family Mediators & Family Law Specialist. Mariah also mentors and assists others. She is a mentor for the Australian National University Women in Law Organisation Mentoring Program. The program pairs women law students with professional women in the legal sector, as a means to empower and develop women studying law. When Mariah was studying at ANU, she had the opportunity to be a mentee in the progra...m and gained such valuable experience and contacts, including having the opportunity to ask lots of questions and gain an insight into what the daily life of a lawyer looks like. When she later became a lawyer, being a mentor to law students was definitely something that she wanted to be able to give back. Mariah enjoys meeting with the mentees and being able to answer their questions and talk about real life as a lawyer. The biggest question that mentees have asked is what life is like as a family lawyer for Mariah, the answer is simple, "It is about having the opportunity to help people on a daily basis, to work with them in what can be one of the hardest times in their life and play a role working with them in their next chapter."

15.01.2022 Meet Mariah Tennant-Breust. Mariah is a Family Lawyer with Claire Naidu & Co. She is passionate about helping people plan for the future. Something that people navigating the family law system might not think about is the effect that their relationship breakdown may have on their estate planning. A will and Enduring Power of Attorney should be reviewed periodically and after significant events, for example, marriage, relationship breakdown or divorce and in some circumst...ances a current Will may be revoked as a result of marriage. You may wish to consider contacting your superannuation fund and review the current nominated beneficiaries regularly (and after significant events) to ensure they reflect your current wishes. Mariah has completed further continued learning in relation to Enduring Guardianship and Advance Health Directives. An Enduring Power of Attorney is a legal agreement that enables a person to appoint a trusted person to make decision on their behalf for example medical, financial or personal care matters. The topics covered included the importance of having an Enduring Power of Attorney, interstate recognition (for example if the Enduring Power of Attorney is created in the ACT, then what it's legal operation is in the other Australian states and territory). An Enduring Power of Attorney can provide protection and pre-planning in the event that something happens to you and you need someone to make decision on your behalf. If you would like to discuss your estate planning, including regarding your superannuation or to make or update a Will and/or Enduring Power of Attorney, please contact Claire Naidu & Co, Family Mediators & Family Law Specialist on 02 6109 0188.

10.01.2022 You may recall that the other day I posted about the then Governor-General Quentin Bryce. 06.01.2022 Feeling stuck in a difficult situation can feel very frustrating or even debilitating. Sometimes, the best thing to do is to just, "chop wood". Just do something, even if it feels mundane, for example, clean a window sill, sweep the floors. There is a zen quote "Before Enlightenment chop wood, carry water. After enlightenment chop wood, carry water". To the external eye, there is probably nothing very apparently different, there it is still just the chopping of the woo...d. But internally, there may be a shift. A greater awareness than before the chopping of the wood (or whatever task you chose to do). The former POTUS, Barack Obama , is quoted as having said "The best way to not feel hopeless is to get up and do something." It doesn't have to be anything amazing. But by moving, doing something different, you may experience a shift in that feeling in being stuck. You may even gain some insight into how to fix the situation. Lots of people feel stuck in their relationships. It doesn't mean that you have to separate or break up. Sometimes, working things out is possible. It is a matter of working out what is best for you and how to make it work. If your are looking for someone to help you work on agreement, or getting past an impasse, or working through a frustrating situation or difficult relationship, Claire Naidu & Co, Family Mediators & Family Law Specialist has resolution experts to assist with conflict advice and guidance.
