24.01.2022 Just a reminder that tomorrow is Wellbeing Wednesday! Please wear a splash of yellow and we look forward to you joining us for mass from 9:45am (it starts at 10am) using the zoom link in the slides.
24.01.2022 Some of our students are caring for pets, running and drawing. Some are doing Science experiments and others, scavenger hunts.
24.01.2022 Clairvaux Online Book Fair We recently advertised on PAM and in our school newsletter that we would be having an Online Book Fair. Unfortunately we have been unable to hold this event. Sam, who looks after our Library and Book Fairs has had to undergo surgery at the very last minute and in her absence we felt unable to continue. On the plus side, Bookclub Issue #7 orders have arrived and will be delivered next week as well as a new catalogue with Issue #8. We apologise for the inconvenience.
24.01.2022 These are some very impressive basketball skills, Hunter!
24.01.2022 Thank you to Father Sang and John for organising this beautiful service today. It was lovely we could celebrate together as a school community.
23.01.2022 Clairvaux Classic T-shirts are now ready to purchase. All details can be found on PAM. Please note no cash sales.

23.01.2022 We are loving the photos you are sending through today... all the smiles as you cook, zoom, walk, get active and relax! Thank you! We will continue to add photos and videos of talents throughout the day :) Hope you're all having a brilliant day on this sunny Wednesday
23.01.2022 The 2020 Parent Wellbeing Survey is only open for the rest of this week. Thank you to all of you who have completed it already. The link is on PAM and we encourage you to get on and have your say. Your feedback is very useful for our forward planning
22.01.2022 At Clairvaux we value opportunities for our students to participate in a range of alternate lunchtime activities such as Italian club, body balance, yoga, futsal and mindful colouring. Coloring has the ability to relax the fear center of our brain, the amygdala. It induces the same state as meditating by reducing the thoughts of a restless mind. This generates mindfulness and quietness, which allows our mind to get some rest after a long day. Here are some children who chose to participate last week.
22.01.2022 Celebrating the end of an incredible term!
20.01.2022 Local organisation, Project Thrive (who have worked extensively with Clairvaux), and the IndieFlix Foundation are giving our families the opportunity to access a FREE virtual screening of "Angst" next Wednesday, September 16th at 7pm. Angst is a film-based education program designed to raise awareness around anxiety, with an emphasis on youth and families. The film includes interviews with kids, teens, experts, and parents. The goal is to help people identify and understand... the symptoms of anxiety and encourage them to reach out for help. The screening will be followed by a panel discussion and include access to further resources and materials. To register go to https://us02web.zoom.us//register/WN_ZopMFGyWTDqa9qaW14oX2A Learn more at www.angstmovie.com
15.01.2022 Some photos from the Year 4 excursion today to the You Yangs: Exploring the Aboriginal cultural landscape in the traditional Country of the Wadawurrung People as part of our integrated studies unit about Colonial Australia. Can you spot the Bunjil geoglyph in the last photo?
15.01.2022 Fantastic to see our Year 3-6 students participate in cross country this morning. Some of these children will go onto compete at the division cross country in Torquay in April. We thank Simone for all her organisation and our staff and parents who supported our students out in the heat! (Please note there were two students absent from the placement photos). CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL STUDENTS FOR COMPETING.

13.01.2022 Our Touchstones are coming along very nicely... each week we are exploring a different way of being that is building our collective wellbeing at Clairvaux. So far we have had Belonging, Friendship, Happiness, Respect and Positivity. This week the Touchstone is KINDNESS. Kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give. Giving is more important than receiving. Through kindness our acceptance of others grows. Demonstrate kindness, seeking first to understand.... What have you done this week to show kindness? How can you show more kindness to those around you every day?
12.01.2022 Well done to our Year 5 and Year 6 students who wrote beautiful ‘Letters of Hope’ to the residents of two local aged care facilities. We know how tough this time has been for the elderly, especially those that have not been able to see family face-to-face for a long time. We hope the letters put a smile on each of their faces.
12.01.2022 Thank you from the staff to the family that dropped off some goodies today. The staff thoroughly enjoyed the treat. Have a great weekend everyone!!
11.01.2022 Today is R U Ok? Day. It's good to check in with family and friends just to see how they're doing. Make time to listen and be available to help them work through a situation - you don't have to have the answers, just be with them in the moment and offer whatever support you can. And whilst we are reminded to do this today... perhaps you can make time over the next weeks and months to have a conversation with those you care about We thank Phoebe, Noah and Toby for this message... https://app.seesaw.me/pages/shared_item
11.01.2022 Some Year 5 students received some very exciting news today, that they are finalists in the STEM Mad competition! The photo displays 2/3 of one team receiving the exciting news via Zoom. This team includes Charli Primus, Jade Owens and Cianna Bao. The other team consists of Hamish Veronie, Annabelle Hamouche, Tamas Robertson and Sofia Papiernik. Well done for your incredible designs aiming to make the world a better place by trying to solve the global plastic problem.
11.01.2022 Next Wednesday, 9th September instead of having specialist day it will be Wellbeing Wednesday! It is all about having fun and taking time to enjoy yourself and the company of those around you! We want you to invest time in your Wellbeing. We'd love you to wear a splash of yellow on the day for an added boost of positivity. All the activities have been designed to promote different elements of Wellbeing and can be accessed where you usually access your remote learning activiti...es. The activities focus on boosting positive emotion, fostering engagement, building relationships, adding meaning, enhancing a sense of accomplishment and prioritising health... because all the research shows that these things lead to flourishing and optimal wellbeing. There is a whole school zoom mass at 10am and we would love to see ALL members of our community attend. You can enter from 9:45am and you only need one device per family. Class zoom chats will happen because we know class connection is important. However, due to the mass, some year levels have had to change their time for this week. We understand that this may cause timetabling issues at home. We are understanding of this so if your children can only join their chat for a quick hello that is completely ok! The day should be stress-free We'd love you to send through some photos of what you do to [email protected] so we can share them on Facebook with our school community. Any questions please email Mel at the above address. Thank you for all the wonderful work you are all doing :)
11.01.2022 We might see you at the Olympics one day Annabelle!
10.01.2022 Can you believe tomorrow is the last day of term?! Please remember to Zoom in for our school assembly which begins at 9:30am (you can join the Zoom from about 9.15am). The link is in your class learning slides and on PAM. There’s plenty of fun and it will be a great way to celebrate the efforts of our whole school community in Term 3
09.01.2022 Girls as Leaders in STEM (GALs) Clairvaux will again be involved in the Girls As Leaders in STEM project in partnership with Deakin University in 2021. As the 2020 programme was interrupted due to Covid our now, year 6 GALs have been invited back to join the new intake of year 5 GALs in 2021. The GALs programme gives the opportunity for girls to work with female engineers and scientists in industry to develop further skills in these areas to design, create and problem solve i...n real life scenarios. This year our GALs will be mentored by Margaret (Year 5 teacher) and Scarlett (Year 6 teacher) as well as lecturers from Deakin University. The GALs will work through a process whereby they will research a real life scenario and design a prototype that could potentially be used in the community. We look forward to seeing how creative our 2021 GALs can be. Their designs, process and prototypes will be shared with the Clairvaux and wider community at a later date. Year 5 GALs. Layla, Freyja, Kaeli and Macy Year 6 GALs: Leah, Eden, Jayde and Rhianna
09.01.2022 Dear Parents & Carers Following the Premier's announcement students will be back at school tomorrow (Thursday 18 Feb.). We are still awaiting guidelines around other restrictions, e.g. swimming, parents on-site, etc., and we will keep you posted once we have further confirmation.... Some reminders: Cross Country for Years 3-6 will go ahead tomorrow as planned. Please make sure permission notes have been filled in on PAM. Years 3-6 students are to wear house colours. Parent Teacher Interviews were cancelled for this week and hopefully these will go ahead next week, either face-to-face or over the phone. A new booking system will be set up with a new password, as old bookings cannot be carried over. Swimming was cancelled this week for Year 2 students (we will try and re-book for another time in the year). Again we are awaiting guidelines as to whether swimming will go ahead next week for our Year 1 students. There will be NO CANTEEN this week. Thanks everyone for your support. See you on Thursday.
07.01.2022 Our Year 6 students are having an amazing time in Anglesea at Camp Wilkin. They arrived yesterday and spent a large part of the day at the beach - involved in cooperative tasks, team building activities and having a whole lot of fun! Take a look at their first day...
07.01.2022 Isca, Olivia and Elise raised $109 for Mannya by potting and selling plants. What a fantastic effort girls and thank you to all who supported them.
05.01.2022 Archie you are very clever!

01.01.2022 Congratulations to some of our Touchstone award winners over the last two weeks. There has been a whole school focus on respect and positivity... it is always so tricky to choose from so many worthy recipients. Next week is KINDNESS
01.01.2022 A song from the teachers to the families at Clairvaux.
