23.01.2022 CLAREMONT WOMEN'S - PRE-SEASON UPDATE: The girls are well and truely into their pre-season and pumped for the season ahead. With more than 20 on the track each training session the girls are setting themselves up nicely to back up from their premiership season last year. With the addition of 8 new teams and a second team from the Suns and Claremont (last years U17 juniors) the competition has been divided into three tiers this year. Claremont will field a team in both divisi...on one and three and look forward to working together to represent our great club the best we can. Last Friday night we played a gala round against the South East Suns WFC and Tasmania University Football Club at Pembroke Park. This was a great opportunity to play some of our new girls and practice our structures and game plan under pressure. The girls performed well and showed that they will be strong contenders again this year. Thank you to our club sponsors, members and supporters for your continued support. We look forward to stepping up our pre-season training again to be at full strength by round one. We have another practice match against St Virgil’s on Sunday 21st March, 10:30am at Abbotsfield Park. Please come along and cheer our girls on! Sandy Eaton (Div 1 coach) Photography courtesy of Jane Roussow Photography

02.01.2022 Practice Game Review Claremont vs OHA Senior Coach, Paul Allison’s wrap up of their recent game against OHA Football Club "The Ships" We are very proud of the efforts against OHA, the boys should hold their heads high and continue to deliver on the team values and behaviours. The bar has been set at our trainings and on the field, especially when it comes to delivering what we stand for as a team.... During Wednesday night’s pre-game meeting, I asked our group to deliver on some key fundamentals during the match, which I witnessed being delivered against a quality opposition, who have some very experienced player’s taking the field for them. The team matched it with their opponents for three quarters, which is fantastic when our side is quite a young group and with not a lot of senior footy experience, just yet. This was our first hit out for 2021, it gives us confidence to continue on as we are and keep faith in our process moving forward as a team. I asked for the following key fundamentals during the game: Manic pressure; 15 tackles per quarter; Elite communication; Discipline, sportsmanship, and respect; and Body language, enjoy the game. As a coach of this young group of highly committed player’s, we look forward to tackling any challenge that is ahead of us and doing it as a team. Thanks to the OHA Football Club for the game and best of luck for your upcoming season. Our next practice match is against the Richmond Football Club Inc (Tasmania) and scheduled for 6:30pm, Tuesday, 23 March at Abbotsfield Park, Claremont. We invite all our Club supporters to come along to this match. Regards, Paul Jnr
