24.01.2022 Preseason is supposed to be the quiet part of the year but not at "The Nest!" Club President Kieran Prideaux and key committee members have been working tirelessly with Councillor Adam Allan and the BCC team to deliver a works program that will benefit the club and community members who utilize and frequent our club and use its facilities. The following projects have been agreed and are fully funded by the BCC and relevant project teams.... $13,000 on ground maintenance program $150,000 facility maintenance program $142,500 Disabled access upgrade program. Works have already begun and the council has advised that it’s their intention to complete the programs with minimal disruption to the club and community. A huge thanks to the BCC for their ongoing partnership, these projects will benefit the club and broader community. Finally, a heartfelt thanks to Adam for his ongoing support and focus on delivering community based outcomes.

16.01.2022 MAJOR SIGNING After a solid 4 minute negotiation we are relieved to announce our game day announcer has extended his contract for 2021. Brec Fenton is the familiar voice we all know & love at each home game & club fuction at the Nest. ... Feno is an ex player and has his son playing in the Juniors at the club as well. A true Eagle in all aspects. Brec commented about the contract extension.. "It was a big decision, i had interest from a local soccer and badminton club, I even sent a demo tape to a well know bowls club that I won't mention. In the end, it came down to where my vocals fit and where the best elevation points are projection wise. When I looked at this, in addition to renegotiating my 2 free cans of Green Beacon & new Norths caps, it was an offer to good to refuse." Club President Kieran Prideaux went on to say, " Brec had a scare a few years back when a well known radio identity made a play for his primetime spot, I think it was the scare Feno needed, he went off, rediscovered his sound and to be honest hasn't looked back since. It's great to have him back in 21." Congrats from us all Brec, we looked forward to hearing you in 2021.

09.01.2022 COACHING ANNOUNCEMENT Norths Rugby Club are proud to announce the Colts 1 Coaching team for #Season2021. Leading the team as Head Coach is Daniel Ritchie. ... Dan is a 3rd Generation Eagle and returns to #theNorthNest after a few years abroad playing in Canada & Scotland, and then returning to Brisbane to coach locally. Dan has worked in the GPS school system for a few years now, including his previous role of Director of Rugby at Brisbane State High, and he is currently at Brisbane Grammar School. Dan was also recently involved in the successful Brisbane City NRC Under 19s Campaign last season. Norths Rugby Club are just as excited as Dan is to have him back at the Nest, and he has wasted no time in getting straight to work! Benedict Cameron will assist Dan and although he is new to the club, Ben is not new to club football. Ben arrives at Norths with a very impressive CV of coaching in both Senior Club footy and representative Age Grade footy. Ben stepped back from Rugby in Season 2020 but the opportunity to apply his knowledge and skills in the Norths Colts Program, was too good of an opportunity to refuse. To say Ben is a student of the game, is an understatement, and we are extremely excited to have Ben on board! 09.01.2022 Well, we made it.... Ladies Day 2020 Covid edition happened and it was a fair crack from our awesome women in rugby. French flowed or should I say overflowed all afternoon, there were lots of laughs and the ladies were dressed to perfection. Apologies to those who couldn't get tickets, a waiting list of 80 people just doesn't seem fair but unfortunately our mate covid just keeps on taking. ... A big thanks to the Colts ( Adam & Dante) and Grades star ( Shai " please take your shirt off" Waperi) who worked the function. A massive shoutout to 2 people in particular, they started at 10am and were one of the last leave, VOLUNTEERISM at its best. Bec Prideaux you rock & I love you heaps, you have no off button girlfriend & Oldboy Brendan Behm, you run a tight ship brother and just make the day happen. Finally, to all those who attended, we look forward to seeing all those beautiful faces next year, we really appreciate your support. Cheers Eddie
