23.01.2022 2019-2020 premiers After deliberation and consultation the CRCA executive are pleased to announce that the Premier league premiers for this year are: South Services... The third grade Premiers this year are: Westlawn. Congratulations to both clubs. As a group we decided that it should be awarded to to first team into the grand final that will be named major premiers This decision will be based on nothing other than the fact that we can treat this at the same as we would if it was a washout The decision was made prior to any article in the paper and as suggested this did not influence our decision. I am aware that this will not be the most popular decision around the clubs but it is what it is and the elected executive have made that decision. It has not been the smoothest of seasons, but there has been nothing that we have not overcome. We can only hope that next season is a lot better as far as or conditions out of our control are concerned. We are still undecided about the presentation night going ahead but we will tell you in due course. TK

23.01.2022 GRAFTON JUNIOR CRICKET TO START THURSDAY 22/10/2020 Junior Cricket is set down to start on Thursday 22nd October for U14's, ... Friday the 23rd October for U17's & U12's Saturday the 24th October for U10's. That leaves three weeks for Clubs to organise teams. So we are asking Parents / Guardian's to make sure that they registered their children Online at "Playcricket.com" as soon as possible to be able to play. 17.01.2022 NCCC has just received the following message from Cricket NSW regarding YPC representative cricket later this week. ...... Afternoon everyone,... Just quick update today in regards to the upcoming Sixers u14 & u15 Youth Champs carnival this week. We are currently in close contact with both Clarence River Council and local ground authorities and are constantly monitoring the situation. We will check in again tomorrow morning and provide all with an update. Everyone’s safety is of utmost importance in this situation and we will not subject anyone to travel or play if conditions are unsuitable. In the event of a ‘worst case scenario’ we are currently assessing options to complete the competition under safer circumstances. We appreciate your patience and understanding and will continue to keep you updated with any changes. Cheers, Jess

10.01.2022 Clarence Cricket Cricket Association has decided to cancel all playing activities for the remainder of the season in line with the recommendations of Cricket NSW. This has been a very difficult season with smoke, washouts and now COVID-19 but feel that this is the responsible stance given the current climate. TK

09.01.2022 ATTENTION U14s and U15s participating in the Youth Championships around the Grafton area. Please be advised we have just been informed this carnival has been c...ancelled. Please note that at this stage U13s in Scone are still going ahead, but this is still being monitored by Cricket NSW who are hoping to advise an update later this evening. Below is the information we just received regarding the Grafton games. .......... Good Morning All, In consultation today with Clarence Valley Council and local volunteers and following the incredible amount of rain (and it still is raining!!) in the region it has been determined to cancel the Under 14 and Under 15 Youth Championships scheduled for Grafton on the 18th to the 21st December. Further, in the interests of safety with people travelling long distances in difficult driving conditions as well as the integrity of the competition we will now look to implement alternative delivery options of the Under 14s and Under 15s matches in the New Year. Could you please advise as a matter of urgency all necessary people.

07.01.2022 Just a heads up about this weekend's cricket Premier League major semi-final Tucabia V Souths at Ulmarra will be umpired by Jason Thompson and Tony Blanch The minor semi final will be played at Mckittrick between East Westlawn and Brothers and this will be umpired by Dave Honeybrook and Bruce Baxter.... Just a further heads up that the Premier League games are a Saturday/ Sunday fixture The third grade major semi-final will be played between Brothers and Westlawn and will be played at lower Fisher synthetic The third grade minor semi final will be played between between South and Coutts Crossing and will be played at JJ Lawrence Umpires will be allocated to those third grade games in the near future. 07.01.2022 ********** HELP NEEDED ************** The CRJCA is looking for a person to assist with the running of the Master Blaster Cricket Program for kids aged between 5... & 8. The program has fours weeks left to go. The sessions are on Wednesday afternoon between 4.00pm to 5.00pm with the next session on the 3rd February. The program would suit persons studying Early Childhood Learning, Primary School Teaching or any other persons interested. No cricket experience is required just an enjoyment of helping kids learn batting and balls skills through different activities. $40.00 a session would be paid. Just finalising it after a few Team changes. It now appears that we are back to 7 teams after we did have 8 teams for a short time. Therefore there will be a bye in the U10 competition. . There is a discussion to be had in relation to our competition and grade structures... Also we are on the lookout for a president as i will not be re standing.
