23.01.2022 Wishing you a day of light, laughter and love. May your heart be quietly content. We hope you have the gift of connection, in reality or virtually. ... And if there is sadness, we hope it is like a gentle sun shower, softly falling but quickly passing. Missing someone or something is ok. Much love, From the team at Clarence Natural Therapies

And of course, there are also herbs, massage, herbal teas and simple daily routines that enhance this action....... Its great to be able to share again and support others in their 10 day cleanse Yours, in health Leanne

15.01.2022 Prince St in the 1890 flood. And there is our building. At that time it was a bank. The resident bank manager would have been high and dry upstairs.... Not sure about the bank itself....

08.01.2022 One of the many treatments available in our clinic..... Shirodhara Shirodhara is a continual pouring of warm herbal oil to the forehead (3rd eye) and is an effective treatment for reducing stress and expanding one’s consciousness. It is done in a quiet setting with the individual lying on his/her back. Foot, hand and head massage are an integral part of the treatment. ... The mind, body and spirit are intimately connected, and Shirodhara, by calming the mind, relaxes the entire physiology. Shirodhara is especially effective for those experiencing anxiety, insomnia, depression, and stress in general. Stress, according to Ayurveda, is a state of imbalance. Shirodhara stimulates the pituitary gland, which helps bring hormonal balance. Thus, Shirodhara, because of its calming and nurturing effect, is beneficial for anyone. Its benefits include: Reducing stress/calming the mind / nurturing Reducing anxiety, nervousness, anger, frustration and depression Bringing hormonal balance by stimulating the pituitary gland Treating insomnia Encouraging an expansion of consciousness Improves sensory perception, especially the eyes Improves heart function Alleviates chronic headaches and migraines Helpful in memory loss, mental exhaustion, fatigue and tiredness

07.01.2022 Do you know me? I might be sitting sedately on your kitchen shelf, biding my time until you sprinkle me into a delectable desert. My name is cardamom. My Sanskrit name is Ela, like an old friend. And like an old friend I am valuable.... I am one of the best and safest digestive stimulants. I gently enhance the movements in your gut, quietly fire up your digestive enzymes and remove heaviness from the stomach. I am a carminative and so relieve abdominal pain and nausea. Make me into a drink with my good friend ginger, a little bit of lemon and honey and feel my magic work. I can help you if you have lost your appetite. Mix me with ginger, black pepper and honey and I’ll stoke those fires for you. Chew my seeds for bad breath. My oil will help soothe toothache and mouth ulcers. Place a few of my seeds under your tongue and I will help you relieve anxiety and reduce those butterflies in your stomach. I am great for sore throats, especially if you mix me with cinnamon, cloves and honey. This is also an expectorant, so can help with coughs, colds and asthma. I love to nourish the kidneys and am often in formulations for kidney stones. I strengthen and stimulate the heart. Just place teaspoon in your breakfast in the morning and teaspoon in a warmed milk at night. I bring clarity to your mind and joy! If you are really hot or sweating excessively, place 3 or 4 of my pods in water with some coriander and drink. I take away the mucus forming properties of milk if I am boiled in your milk. I neutralise the caffeine in your coffee. I will help you break down gluten in your food. And I am delicious!! And so very happy to help you!!

03.01.2022 Today is INTERNATIONAL AYURVEDA DAY :) To celebrate I thought I would share with you a little information about the doshas (or vata, pitta and kapha)..... Ayurveda has a unique way of understanding the body. Ayurvedic Medicine completely embraces our modern knowledge of blood, bones, muscles, organs, glands and nervous tissue and seeks to nourish these. Yet it goes beyond this. Ayurveda understands that behind these tissues, behind these organs there are guiding forces or su...Continue reading

01.01.2022 Living our life fully and deeply requires courage. If we cannot be happy, right here and right now, we need to ask ourselves why. If we’re having difficulty touching peace and the wonders of the cosmos in our daily life, there must be something getting in the way. We need to find out what it is. What’s weighing us down or pulling us away from the present moment? The art of living happily is also the art of transforming our afflictions. If we want to be happy, we need to identify what is preventing us from being happy. The path to well-being is the path out of ill-being. Sometimes we suffer but we don’t dare to admit it to ourselves, let alone to others. However, only by facing our suffering can we find the way out, the path to well-being. - Thich Nhat Hanh
