22.01.2022 INTRODUCING 2021 CHAPEL SACRISTAN, DARCY TAYLOR-ROBERTS Darcy enjoys working outside, including going on hunting trips. However he also loves playing the guitar and video games. He's really looking forward to finishing his schooling after 13 years of hard work. Darcy says remembering to study and completing homework will be the biggest challenge of Year 12. He is looking to improve his studies in readiness for the HSC.... His favourite part of CVAS is the great attitude of the teachers. Darcy's advice for new Year 7 students is that Year 12 may seem a long way off but it comes around fast. Remember to study!

22.01.2022 INTRODUCING JUNIOR SCHOOL SOVEREIGN HOUSE CAPTAIN, MILLIE LLOYD Millie is 11 years old. She loves to sing, dance, be a leader and spend time with her friends. When she's not attending school you will find Millie swimming, dancing, playing tennis and golf. When she grows up she wants to be an architect. Millie says she needs music in her life as it calms her and makes her happy. She would be sad and dull without it. As a leader Millie is looking forward to helping out at sport...s carnivals and running events. She is most looking forward to contributing ideas and attending meetings. She believes however the most challenging part of her new role will be peer pressure and trying to make everything perfect. Millie thinks CVAS is a great school! She is given lots of goals, some she's already achieved and some she's yet to attain. She cannot wait for the year ahead. Advice to her younger Year 4 self: "Try a lot harder, not be bossy and hang onto your friends as you need them, keep them close". Thanks Millie for sharing your thoughts. You are going to be great in your House Captain role!

12.01.2022 INTRODUCING 2021 INDUNA HOUSE CAPTAIN WITH ACADEMIC PORTFOLIO, MELISSA DAVIES Melissa hopes to go to university in 2022 and study to become a professional trumpet player. She has been playing trumpet for eight years and has had many achievements during this time. She is part of the concert band and Jazz ensemble at the Clarence Valley Conservatorium as well as 2nd trumpet in the Clarence Valley Orchestra. She has been a member of these groups for around five years.... For the last five years Melissa has also been a competitive gymnast. This year because of Covid there hasn't been any competitions, however Melissa hopes to start back in 2021. Melissa enjoys school and challenging herself academically. Her favourite subjects is Maths, however, she equally enjoys all of her other subjects as she finds them really fascinating, especially Modern History. The challenges she faces in Year 12 include keeping on top of all the work and remembering the content for exams. Melissa finds the prospect of the HSC nerve-wracking, but feels she will be well prepared and knows she just has to do her best. Melissa finds everyone at CVAS supportive and the smaller classes allow for more one-on-one time, allowing her to be able to reach her full potential. She says the teachers are amazing as well as her friends. Her advice for new Year 7 students is don't be scared about starting high school and don't stress either. Enjoy your time in your junior years and look forward to sharing memories with your friends. Your junior years aren't as important as your senior years, however, still pay attention in class and do your best because this content will become the foundation for later content which will eventually become more advanced. Overall have fun and enjoy yourself!
