25.01.2022 The demolition has started. Today was the first day of demolition works at CPS. We are so lucky to have received $3.03m in funding from the state government to deliver the Asbestos Removal Program. A modular system, currently being built in a factory in outer Melbourne, is planned to be delivered early September. ... Completion is scheduled for the end of October.

25.01.2022 Happy campers... see you on Friday when you return from Anglesea. Happy snappers... so pleasing to hear from the photographers that our students were polite and well behaved - and so were the staff We get the job done here at CPS.

24.01.2022 A message from James Merlino - Education Minister for Victoria. Today is a tough day as we see Coronavirus numbers rise again. The worldwide fight against this pandemic is long, difficult and frustrating.... In schools and early childhood education, for which I am responsible, I know how hard this is on everyone - principals, teachers, educators and support staff; parents and carers; and most importantly our students. I know not everyone agrees with the decisions we have made in education, but we must continue to act consistent with advice from our health experts - it would be irresponsible not to. Right now, that health advice means that around 700,000 students in prep to Year 10 are learning remotely in metro Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, while VCE and VCAL students and those with a disability have access to face-to-face learning. Were conducting temperature checks and have mandated masks or face coverings. And schools have the flexibility at the local level for staff to work remotely and to provide learning support for students on extended absences. For rural and regional Victoria, some changes have been announced today. From Monday, masks and face coverings will now be required across Victoria. For our schools, we are sending the first batch of 560,000 masks to rural and regional Victoria to ensure those that do not have access to one, will be provided for. I can not thank our education profession, parents and students enough - you are doing an amazing job in very challenging circumstances. We will beat this virus. Together.

23.01.2022 The decision by the Premier is the most significant for Victorians since WWll. We must stand together to support each other through this moment in time. At Clarinda PS we will try our best to support our community and be strong in the face of adversity. But we also need you to be understanding, that during this moment in time, there is no formula and there is no set method. We are not the same as the school down the road or a friends childs school. You are a part of our f...amily and values. By playing your role at home we can look forward to seeing your child sitting in the classroom laughing next to their best buddy, standing in front of the class reading their presentation or running freely in our expansive playgrounds. We see the speed humps on your childs journey...be strong.

21.01.2022 Goodbye 2020. Welcome 2021. The year that was...a snapshot of our year at CPS. Fingers crossed for a brighter 2021 for our community. We can’t wait to share another year of learning.

15.01.2022 A big round of applause for our fantastic staff at Clarinda PS. It hasnt been easy for them either! Staff have been busy planning for a Return to School since the announcement of Stage 1. Observations by staff over many years acknowledge that children who have participated in the program: 1. transition into our school (Prep) with confidence 2. feel connected to the school community 3. are familiar with routines 4. know the layout of the school and playground, and 5. love coming to ‘big school’. For more information please contact our school office on 95443231 or [email protected]

04.01.2022 Hi everyone. Bit of good news for your Sunday morning. Because of our high rates of testing and our low levels of community transmission, were now able to pla...n for the coming weeks and getting back to a few more of the things everyones been missing. From 11.59pm on 31 May, well be increasing gathering limits to 20 people and allowing overnight stays. That means you can sleep over at a mates or rent somewhere for a weekend away. And more community facilities and businesses will be able to reopen including places like libraries, community centres, beauty therapy and tattoo studios. As with everything, these changes come with strict rules around distancing, density and hygiene. The contact details of customers and people using the facilities will also need to be recorded to allow tracing. Im sure people will have questions about why X is allowed if you cant do Y but this really isnt an exercise in whataboutery. Weve had to make some tough calls. We cant just open the floodgates on everything all at once, and risk throwing away all our hard work. I hope people appreciate this point. We have to be cautious and careful. Then, if it all goes to plan and were tracking okay with case numbers, well be able to make some more changes a bit later in the month. From 11.59pm on 21 June, that would include reopening gyms, indoor sports facilities, movie theatres and the snow season will be able to kick off. And finally, a message to all our employers out there. I really need your help on this one. I appreciate this isnt possible for all workplaces. But if your staff are able to work from home, and have been doing so we need to keep that going. We simply cant have thousands of people on trains and trams let alone the logistical challenges of communal kitchens, lifts and big office buildings. I know Ive said this before, but as we all have more choices and more options, its even more important: Just because you can do something, doesnt mean you should race out and do it. Weve come so far and its up to all of us to make this work.

04.01.2022 See you next week Prep students. We are so proud of you. It was a big move back into school a few weeks ago and it was a big day moving on Monday. You are now in the start-of-art classrooms you deserve. Enjoy the weekend, rest up and refresh for another big week of learning at CPS. .

03.01.2022 What is normal for us in todays society? We hope you are well. We are counting down the days to 100 Days of Schooling for the Prep students. Monday is their big day. Our Prep teachers have prepared a celebratory pack that can be collected from the school. There is 1 rule; no peaking until Monday. The Prep teachers had their Monday catch up with students via WebEx. ... Building A is gone! There isnt much left of the building. The next phase is to prepare the stumps and footings.
