25.01.2022 It's official - we're having a market! It won't be until 12 December and it will be conditional upon two things - getting enough volunteers and not having a COVID outbreak nearby but we've missed you and hope to see you there. More details later. Woohoo!!!

25.01.2022 Remember everyone!

25.01.2022 Done! The final total for our fundraiser is $14,448 and cheques for $4,816 have gone to three small mainlaind Lions Clubs, along with a personal note to say that our community is thinking of them, they're not alone. We know from our own Lions Club that every cent goes to help those in need. The three communities receiving cheques were: Kangaroo Island, South Australia - almost half of the island was scorched with so many losing everything Lakes Entrance, Victoria - this Lion...s Club is coordinating aid to the devastated East Gippsland communities such a Mallacoota Bowral, New South Wales - with a request to help Balmoral where every dwelling was wiped out. A community where almost 300 people lived now has nobody living there There are too many people to thank individually so here is a huge THANK YOU to all of you who helped and supported our fundraising efforts. This community is a shining star in what is sometimes a very dark night.

24.01.2022 FlowerFEST starts tomorrow in the Sheffield Town Hall and you shouldn't miss it. I was there this afternoon and I can tell you there were some gorgeous blooms! I will be in the supper room with an interactive demonstration of fondant flower making so come see me and take away a self-decorated cupcake!

24.01.2022 Last night was testimony to the kindness and generosity of our little community. The hall was buzzing and although the final figure isn't settled yet we have definitely raised over $13,500! The auction was fun and very successful - Mark did a great job. Thanks to all who came and shared in this wonderful event and thanks to all who helped to make it so very memorable

23.01.2022 To everyone booked in for tonight, remember that it's 6.30pm and it's BYO. We have some soft drinks for sale ($2 with all moneys to relief fund). We will have water available and some Spreyton Fresh juice free, plus free tea and coffee. Looking like a great night!

22.01.2022 Out of concern for those who may not have heard that the market was cancelled we sat at the hall on this beautiful day and handed out cupcakes and sausage rolls. We had 5 attendees and enjoyed nice long chats about how great our community is! This is Rex Sharman from Beulah telling us about locals and growing up in the area. A truly wonderful day even if our market didn't proceed. Stay safe everyone and find joy in every day

22.01.2022 There will be some lovely gardens to look at this weekend - and a great event to support!

21.01.2022 Kentish Council has suggested that people may be interested in this project

21.01.2022 We have received more donations so I have revised and expanded the table and will put each item in a separate comment to make it easier to bid. If you do not want your bid public just send a message instead of replying to the comment. Happy bidding!

18.01.2022 We have had a few queries about when our next market will be held and the answer is 'We don't know'. The virus is unpredictable and we don't want to put anyone at risk so we will proceed with caution. As most of you know, our kitchen and supper room are quite small so social distancing would be difficult, particularly for the volunteers who are mostly in the vulnerable category. When we are confident that everyone can enjoy the market without risking their lives we will hold the best market ever! Until then, take care

18.01.2022 We have had such a wonderful response to our fundraising event that we are now at capacity and cannot take any more bookings. To all those who are unable to attend but still want to contribute, you can bid on our auction items or donate at the Blacksmiths Gallery Cafe in Sheffield - and thank you for sharing our concern for our fellow countrymen who are suffering through this awful disaster. I am so very proud of our community

17.01.2022 Another work of art up for auction on Saturday - this one painted by our local artist Joanne Treloar. Remember, you can place a bid here or through messenger or call/text Kim on 0419 712 421.

16.01.2022 Lots of fun at FlowerFEST today with some terrific creations! It's on again tomorrow so come along to the Sheffield Town Hall, enjoy the blooms and create your own beautiful cupcake

14.01.2022 This amazing apple sculpture is up for auction on Saturday night. It is made from old horseshoes and was created by our very talented local Peter Ford. You can bid early or come along to the auction at 8.30 on Saturday night!

09.01.2022 It breaks my heart to advise that the Claude Road Market is cancelled. I had hoped we could provide some stability, some sense of normality in these crazy times but if Anzac Day celebrations have been cancelled we can't presume to be more important than that. Stay safe everyone

06.01.2022 Just a reminder that Claude Road Market is on soon (Saturday, 21st March) and we have some wonderful locals who will be playing music to accompany your dining and shopping experience. Fingers crossed for a beautifully fine day

05.01.2022 What would you do in the face of a serious bushfire near you? Are you prepared? The rain on the mainland has filled the news lately but here in Tasmania we still have weeks of dry weather ahead so this Friday, 14th February, at 7pm come along to the Claude Road Hall to learn about protecting your family, your property and yourself in the face of a bushfire.

04.01.2022 Don't forget our market this Saturday (12th). We have some new stallholders as well as many favourites. Lyn will have her beautiful quilted bags (a great gift for Christmas), Carole and Coralanne have been making gorgeous Christmas decorations as well as many other beautiful crafts, Anne has her jewelry and bowl holders etc, Tara has her gorgeous candles - and the list goes on! In the kitchen we have a wide range of cakes and meals, sausage rolls, pies and so on. And we've had the most interest EVER from people wanting to set up outside so come along and join in the COVID-safe fun!! It's going to be a terrific day

03.01.2022 We have had an amazing response to our fundraising appeal and will have a full hall on 25th January. What we need now are bids for the excellent prizes donated by our generous locals - individuals and businesses. You may not be able to attend the dinner but you can still help by bidding on something from the following list (either send a message, leave a comment or call/text Kim on 0419 712 421). Remember that these donations have been made to raise money for the bushfire victims and 100% of the proceeds will go towards this cause. The final auction will be held at Claude Road Hall on the 25th where any additional items will also be auctioned. Please spread the word

01.01.2022 Another fun (and very busy) day at FlowerFEST! Here are some of the fondant funsters

01.01.2022 It will be a while before we can hold a market so I recommend you stock up this Sunday - Liz makes the best jams, relishes, chutneys etc
