23.01.2022 I am commonly asked about how cold laser works - so thought it worthwhile to post that our laser uses two cold beams, set at frequencies of 405nm and 635nm respectively. The 405nm beam damages the fungus itself and helps the body break down the fungus by producing hydrogen peroxide which is an antiseptic and antimicrobial. The 635nm beam stimulates the immune system and causes vasodilation (the dilation of blood vessels ie. more blood flow) by producing nitric oxide. This allows improved blood flow at the feet and encourages the immune system to start healing and regeneration. Hope that helps. Cheers, Ben

17.01.2022 Do over the counter topical treatments work? Im often asked by long suffering nail fungus clients - why dont the topical treatments purchased from the pharmacy work for me? The answer to this question lies in the fact that nail fungus lives beneath the nail, in the nail bed. Unfortunately the topical creams have no way of penetrating through the nail into the nail bed.... Nail fungus is typically extremely stubborn and difficult to overcome. 07.01.2022 I am often asked about the impact of nail polish on nail fungus and can report that Shellac is one of the biggest causes of nail fungus What tends to happen is that when the shellac is not applied particularly well, you get moisture trapped beneath the nail. The fungal nail infection can then rapidly spread because you cant see it as the nail is covered with the shellac. If its on the fingernails its actually easy to treat and weve had some phenomenal results with it, however, clients are advised to generally not to use shellac again.
