25.01.2022 The next wise grad off the rank is not Jonathan Thurston, but Nick, one of our Sydney grads who got to meet JT during the program this year. 1. What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you worked on? I started my Grad journey at Porter Novelli working on many accounts, one of which was Arnotts at the climax of Shapesgate. My current rotation is with Clemenger BBDO, working on the Virgin Australia account. The third chapter is, so far, unknown.... 2. What has been the highlight of your time as a Clemenger Graduate so far? This is a difficult one to quote Top Gun The list is long, but distinguished. Showing your grandma your first print ad is pretty cool. However a personal highlight was working on an Aqualand opening event with PN. Its great to see all the planning and phone calls unfold into the final night, also nabbed a selfie with Arj Barker who headlined the event. 3. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Group Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? Never forget to add value to every task you complete. This means always striving to add a little extra to the task than what was expected. Dont get lazy with this, no matter how busy you get. 4. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry and why? In Account Management youre going to work with Windows, its not quite the Mac filled land that they promised you at Uni.

25.01.2022 Clemenger BBDO Melbourne have dreamed up one of the cooler online/offline advertising-meets-point-of-sale hybrid campaigns of the year for Snickers, introducing a "Hungerithm" that gauges the mood of the Internet and adjusts the price of its candy bars in 7-Eleven stores accordingly, in real time. The angrier the Internet, the cheaper the candyto make everyone a bit happier. The Hungerithmrolling out first in Australiais built on a 3,000-word lexicon and analyzes around 1...4,000 social posts a day. It even understands slang and sarcasm. The in-store Snickers price at 7-Elevens nationwide is updated more than 140 times a day. And it can drop as low as 82 percent off. ("For example," the brand says, "if Donald Trump receives Republican Party endorsement, the price of a Snickers could plummet to 50 cents." Let us know what you think of the campaign! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFVcR760kY8 https://www.snickers.com.au/

24.01.2022 The countdown is on... There is still plenty of time to apply for the 2016 Clemenger Graduate Program. Just remember, the curiouser the better. 24.01.2022 Kicking off our grad interviews for this year is Eliza, one of our grads working in Melbourne. 1. What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you worked on? I started the Clemenger Group Grad Program at Porter Novelli working on Study Melbourne, Warner Bros. and Dairy Australia. Currently I am at CHE Proximity working on TAL, RMIT and Tiger Airways, and I will be finishing the program at The Marketing Shop. ... 2. What has been the highlight of your time as a Clemenger Graduate so far? The highlight of my time with the Clemenger Group would definitely be assisting the team at Porter Novelli in organising and running a fashion show for Study Melbourne as a part of the VAMFF cultural program. It was such an amazing night and something I never would have imagined being a part of before I began the grad program. (A close second would be getting thrown into doing a video voiceover for one of our smaller clients, definitely adding that as a skill on my LinkedIn) 3. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Group Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? Be genuine, original and memorable. Youre applying because you are interested in working in the advertising industry, but so is everyone else applying for the Clemenger Group Grad Program. So make sure that you can differentiate yourself from the crowd. Its not just what the program can offer you, its also what you can offer the agencies involved. Just be yourself and show the Clemenger Group how great working with you would be! 4. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry and why? I guess the main thing that has surprised me about working in advertising is just how varied your day-to-day work can be. Some days you could be in back-to-back meetings and briefings, some days you could be doing research pieces, other days you could be pulled into a brainstorm for a new pitch no two days are the same! Stay tuned for more interviews, examples of our best work and of course more information about the program for 2017. As always, you can comment or message us if you have any questions.

22.01.2022 Next in the line-up of legendary grads is Kirsty, who is working in Melbourne this year. 1. What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you worked on? My first rotation was with CHE Proximity working on ME Bank and TAL, with some Pearson Education and Australian Super thrown in. My second rotation is with The Marketing Shop which has me working on Carlton and United Breweries and all its alcohol brands, from Carlton Draught to Cougar Bourbon and C...ontinental Liqueurs. 2. What has been the highlight of your time as a Clemenger Graduate so far? Thats so hard to say, there have been so many highlights that have come from being able to do something different every day. During my first rotation I got to work on a project from start to finish; including planning, working with creatives on branding a new service, and managing the roll out of all the comms material. Being partnered with the Communications Council has also been really great because you get to go to all the industry events and network with people who have been where you are, and who are where you want to be. 3. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Group Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? As clich as it sounds, you need to give 110% of yourself to your application. Most grad programs have the typical tell us about your most challenging situation application form process, but the Clemenger Group Graduate Program really gives you an opportunity to stand out and flex those creative muscles. Dont be afraid to do something out of your comfort zone, or try something youve always wanted to. 4. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry and why? The number of different projects you get to work across as a grad really surprised me. Its such a pitch in culture, where people bounce ideas off of each other and are willing to answer any and all questions you have. Everyone really encourages you to jump in feet first and get involved.

22.01.2022 Last night Clemenger BBDO Sydney hosted a sold out event Creativity vs Drought at the MCA, as part of the Vivid Ideas festival. Aimed at young, up and coming talent hoping to work in the creative industries, the event was designed to showcase how creative agencies go about solving real world problems - both in the realm of communications and beyond. To demonstrate how it works, Clemenger chose one of Australias most pressing challenges, drought, and handed that challenge ...(along with its production department) over to a unique group of creatives - the children of Australia. As always wed love to hear your thoughts and questions about the project in the comments below!

19.01.2022 With the demands of modern life and workloads continuing to increase, Clemenger BBDO Sydneys latest campaign for MasterFoods acts as a timely reminder that dinner is more than just a meal, its a chance to connect with the people who matter most in all our lives. The Make Dinnertime Matter campaign was developed in response to research revealing that while Australians recognise the benefits of dinnertime, with 78% saying they get more connection from sharing a meal with love...d ones than any other activity, three quarters want to change something about their dinners. To move Aussies to prioritise and celebrate dinnertime, we toured the country asking people who their ideal dinner guest would be. We asked parents and then their children the same question. What was revealed surprised everyone. Complementing the online film, OOH and print also celebrates the role of dinnertime. The advertisements feature real Australian families and friends connecting over dinner and social posts remind people to prioritise dinnertime at key points during the day.

18.01.2022 Introducing the Dolmio "Pepper Hacker", BBDO Sydneys answer to reclaim family meal times from the over use of technology at the dinner table. This campaign sought out to prove that families really connect when they disconnect. We created a device that with one twist the seemingly normal pepper grinder will turn off TVs, Wi-Fi and mobile apps, taking away the dinner time distractions. In just four weeks the online film was viewed over 82 million times - watch for yourself! Pretty cool no?

14.01.2022 We caught up with Todd McLerie, one of our Melbourne grads who has a Bachelor of Business (Marketing)/Bachelor of Business (Management) from Monash University under his belt. So Todd - What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you had the opportunity to work on? ... - This year Ive had the opportunity to rotate through Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, The Marketing Shop, and CHE Proximity, working on NAB, CUB, and AGL respectively. Rotating through these diverse agencies has given me insight into different areas of advertising including above-the-line, below-the-line, and direct marketing. What has been the highlight so far in your time as a Clemenger Grad? - The highlight of my year so far would have to be receiving my first prototype of work that Id spent a lot of time and effort on (a coaster). I may or may not have taken it home and stuck it on my wall. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? - Be honest, be yourself, be human. People from the program want to know who you are and how your brain works, they cant do that if youre pretending or hiding from them, give them a true representation of who you are. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry? Why/how? - The level of innovation that goes on within an agency, whether that be brainstorming new products, developing exciting apps, finding new ways of communicating, or playing around with new technology. During my rotations Ive had the opportunity to fly a drone, watch robots paint, and try out virtual reality.

12.01.2022 After a hugely successful campaign across Australia and New Zealand in 2015, GE and Clemenger BBDO, Sydney have taken their Tweeting Machines campaign global. Designed to demonstrate the power of the Industrial Internet, the campaign sees all of GEs smartest machines present in Rio taking to Twitter in their mother tongue (binary). GEeks go for #CC9900 (hexadecimal for gold) is much more than a product demonstration of the Industrial Internet. Hidden in the machines Twitter conversations is a new coding challenge aimed squarely at the worlds best software engineers and data scientists. Anyone that thinks they have what it takes can register at www.geeksgoforgold.com - the first to the finish line will win USD $10,000 and a trip to GEs Minds + Machines conference in San Francisco this November.

08.01.2022 Introducing AJ, first up from our stunning Sydney crew. 1. What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you worked on? Starting off I was up in Traffik where I got to not only work on a range of clients such as PepsiCo, Samsung and Google but also had the fantastic opportunity to rotate through different areas within the agency including the Shopper, Experiential, Creative and Design teams. Im currently now in BBDO where I am working on the Tour...ism Australia team, as well as Stayz. 2. What has been the highlight of your time as a Clemenger Graduate so far? There are definitely a few nice work perks, but what has made it for me so far is the people within the group. Everyone that I have worked with or have just met in passing, are more than willing to give any words of wisdom, knowhow, or just be up for a great chat and bit of banter. 3. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Group Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? Be open with your aspirations and what you want to get out of the program. Particularly within your application, try and give an insight into what kind of person you are as well as the way that you think. 4. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry and why? Before I started working at BBDO, I knew that the great ideas that form great work arent just plucked from thin air, but I was still surprised by the sheer amount of work that goes into each job. There is always an enormous range of ideas, and the depth in which they are explored, and the timeframe in which it is done, is incredibly inspiring to witness and be a part of.

07.01.2022 Introducing Megan, another ace member of our Sydneysider crew. 1. What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you worked on? I started in The Kitchen Table, where I worked on mostly Campbell Arnotts and some Frucor things, such as the Light and Crispy Shapes Commercial and the Manu We have got a Soup for that Commercial. Now I am in CHE Proximity working across many different clients. Predominantly though, I am working with Bayer, helping with ...Demazin, Claratyne and Iberogast. 2. What has been the highlight of your time as a Clemenger Graduate so far? Probably the very first time I went on a shoot. It was for Light and Crispy Shapes and it was just crazy that I was even there. It was awesome to see all the work you are doing coming together to actually physically create something. Then watching the final commercial afterwards has a whole other layer of cool because you were actually there! 3. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Group Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? I think mostly its just to do your own thing. When I was applying I was worried if I was answering the brief right. Now I realised that all of us grads answered it totally different and thats fantastic. That is what they want. For example, I love photography so I went out and took photographs to support my ideas. If you are good at something in particular and it works, do that! Dont get caught up in what you think you should be doing. 4. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry and why? This is a lame answer, but it is true. I was surprised about how nice everyone was. I kind of just assumed they would all be busy and doing their own thing, possibly even too cool to talk to the new girl. Pretty much daily I am surprised to see how nice everyone is. Really most people you meet will always have a chat, ask you how you are going and be willing to help you even with the simplest thing. When they ask how you are going, they actually really want to know.

05.01.2022 We have been reading some fantastic applications, and have thoroughly enjoyed the way people have approached the brief differently. As we continue to finalise our top candidates, lets hear from some more current grads. Hi Jess - What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you had the opportunity to work on? ... - I started in Porter Novelli (PR) and was working on Panasonic, Visa and Australian Eggs (my personal favourite). I then went to BBDO and worked on the Tourism Australia account. I am now in Traffik (Experiential) working for a fantastic range of clients - eBay, Arnotts, DHL and Samsung. What has been the highlight so far in your time as a Clemenger Grad? - Having the opportunity to work on some of the Groups larger clients has been fantastic. Being on the shoot for V energys most recent super hero ad **The massive hit that improves you a bit*** would have to be a highlight. Being on that rooftop (where they shot the Matrix by the way), and actually being able to see how a big shoot works with the mix of directors, actors, clients and so on was really interesting/exciting. As a successful applicant of the Clemenger Graduate Program, can you provide one tip for aspiring grads? - I think when you are here you have to be a sponge and open to learn anything and everything. We come in as blank slates and so an interesting perspective with an openness to learn will go a long way. Being useful and curious is how you excel as a grad. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry? Why/how? - Something that has surprised me particularly about BBDO, (perhaps surprised is the wrong word- maybe impressed is better) is the amount of brilliant people that I have met. I enjoy waking up and going to work every day because the people here are awesome the industry is a melting pot of people from a range of very different backgrounds with a creative thread that holds everyone together its a fantastic mix.

05.01.2022 The countdown is on...applications are due at 5pm today and we cant wait to see what youve created. Also getting to hang out with the awesome people at each rotation has been pretty rad. What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry? Why/how? - Theres a lot of opportunities to express yourself and be heard. I was surprised that even as a grad you could have a pretty big impact on a job.

01.01.2022 Next up is Anna Parker, the final grad in Team Melbourne! 1. What companies have you rotated through this year and what clients have you worked on? My first rotation was at The Marketing Shop and there I got to work on CUB. I mostly worked on Carlton Draught and spirits. My second rotation is at Clemenger BBDO and I am currently working on NAB. My last rotation will be at Porter Novelli. ... 2. What has been the highlight of your time as a Clemenger Graduate so far? What is something that has surprised you about the advertising industry and why? The pace of the industry has really amazed me.
