24.01.2022 This is how Clermont does COVID! These surgical gowns and hats were sewn by residents, and face shields were created by a local 3D printing business. The d...onations have helped keep the Clermont Country Practice going, with personal protective equipment in such high demand. Owner and GP, Doctor Sarah McLay says she was overwhelmed by the support, after she put a call-out for help on social media. "A lovely chap in the community came and showed me some asbestos gowns...and people just came out from everywhere, for days we had people dropping off paper towel at the clinic," she said. "I feel so much more comfortable now knowing we have options thanks to the community."

15.01.2022 Last night we celebrated the launch of our new service/facility affectionately named 'Dylan's Pitstop' after born and bred local Dylan. It was also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate Dylan's birthday. This is Clermont's first house which can be used by locals and visitors who have NDIS to have short supported stays away from home. A four bedroom house which is central to the shops and services, it can be used as accommodation to provide parents and carers with respite an...d participants young and old with fun activities and support to increase independence and life skills. Our local team are there to make sure that people have a fun and safe stay. NDIS Short Term Accommodation stays include the home away from home, activities and meals to provide you with peace of mind that you or your family member will be well looked after. A birthday milestone for Dylan and a milestone for the services and facilities on offer locally in the Clermont community. This is finally an alternative to people having to visit the bigger centres for this kind of service. A big thank you to Dylan's mum Maria for her vision and active help to make this dream a reality!

15.01.2022 Erika, an 80-year-old woman fell to the ground and was alone in her house for more than four days. Luckily she had registered with the Care Army and Beaudesert police were able to come to her aid.

11.01.2022 Well, this is a change!

11.01.2022 Ed is on top of the world! Lovingly known as Pluto, he lives with Huntington’s disease and is well known in the small town of Kununurra in far north Western Au...stralia on the eastern fringe of the Kimberley. He is busy achieving his life goals and dreams, and doing the things he has always enjoyed. With support from the NDIS he is now more independent, accessing funding in his plan for Supported Independent Living (SIL). This week, Ed took part in NAIDOC Week celebrations, marching with his community and dancing in a traditional corroboree. Tap to read Ed's story: https://bit.ly/2H3xtZW

09.01.2022 Many people in our region will have been in the Brisbane areas over the Christmas/New Year period. Please keep in mind that the Brisbane Lock Down rules (stay at home other than for essential reasons from tonight to Monday night) applies to anyone who has been in the greater Brisbane area on or since 2 January. If we all stick together and play our part we can give our health system the time it needs to work out if there has been an outbreak or not.

08.01.2022 Wonderful milestone but there are still many people who should be getting supports who have not yet entered the scheme. We collaborate with doctors, schools, Local Area Coordinators and the National Disability Insurance Agency to assist people in our remote communities to navigate the access process.

08.01.2022 As restrictions lift and Queenslanders are encouraged to visit our communities in coming weeks; please remember that there are many people in our community who will be particularly vulnerable to any future outbreak. The quicker we know about cases the quicker our communities and health system can protect vulnerable Australians. You can help - If you are sick visit one a fever clinic and stay at home until the results are returned. Emerald - Lot 1, Pilot Farm Rd... Bowen - Central Shopping Village Jericho - Primary Healthcare Centre Longreach - 109 Eagle Street We have heard that there is a clinic in Moranbah but there is no listing on Qld Health website at this stage. Local businesses are recording the names of patrons to help with contact tracing should there be an outbreak. Just like the rest of our sector as well as the aged care sector, Clermont Country Care will be continuing with our infection control protocols to provide safe supports to our local families.

07.01.2022 Happy Halloween!!
