20.01.2022 Its called the King of Lifts for a reason. Sid from IPhysio C-Life gym shows how to master the deadlift. Deadlift form: Stand with your mid-foot under the barbell.... Bend over and grab the bar with a shoulder-width grip. Bend your knees until your shins touch the bar. Lift your chest up and straighten your lower back. Take a big breath, hold it, and stand up with the weight. Deadlift tips: Keep your shoulder height above your hips all the time. If your hips raise up too high you will end up putting too much stress on your lower back. turn on your lats, dont let the weight pull your shoulders forward. keep your shoulders in line with the bar or slightly behind. When you perform the deadlift, you dont need anyone to spot you, if its too heavy and your losing form just drop the weight before you get injured.

17.01.2022 A huge shoutout to this legend Elie who for the first time ever was without his wheelchair and walker. We are so proud of you, your hard work, dedication and positive attitude. Read Elie’s story below... I arrived at C-Life in early 2015 as a chubby faced 19-year-old who was keen to get fit and drop some weight. I didn’t set any big expectations; I never did because I would always hide behind my physical disability Cerebral Palsy (CP). CP primarily affects my mobility and functioning in my lower limbs, as a result I use a wheelchair and walking frame to mobilise. Prior to joining C-Life, I was using my wheelchair about 90% of the time and walking only 10% of the time. However, through hard work, some innovative training ideas and a good relationship with my trainer George, I’ve managed to balance that out more. I am now walking more frequently and longer distances than I ever have. Although most of the sessions with George involve me perfecting my impersonation of him (Sorry George!), I can honestly say that without his positive attitude and belief in me, I wouldn’t be in the position I’m in today. As he often remarks with a big smile on his face, Elie bro, that’s all your hard work. I can now walk multiple laps with my walking frame and even some short distances without it (see the video below). I’ve dropped weight as well and am much more mobile and stronger in my lower body. When I was growing up some health professionals I dealt with, assumed that if I didn’t lose weight or walk a sufficient amount, I’d simply keep using a wheelchair or even end up in a hoist. I guess I can say I’ve proved them and a lot of others wrong. Being a huge sports fan, I have always enjoyed watching Australian athletes fight and triumph against the odds. The more progress I have made at the gym, the more determined I have become to do the same. I still have a way to go, I’d love to be able to balance and walk on my own in the future. I’ll keep working towards that and with the continued support of everyone at C-Life, I’m looking forward to making those goals a reality. Hard work pays off @eliea223

03.01.2022 The barbell upright row is one of the best exercises for building the upper traps and shoulders. Follow these instructions from Noor: 1Start position: Hold a barbell with an overhand grip and with your arms extended and resting on the top of your thighs. Hand grip should be slightly less than shoulder width apart.... 2Now lift the bar by raising your elbows up and to the side while keeping the bar close to your body through the lift. Leading the movement with your elbows continue to lift the bar until it almost touches your chin, pause for a beat and then lower the bar back to the start position.
