25.01.2022 Strength training is anything from body weight exercises to lifting heavy weights . You may hardly raise a sweat, or you might be dripping wet with sweat, either way, if you have moved against a resistance then you have engaged in strength training. Importantly, though, training must be adapted to suit not just the goals, but also the needs of the person. Remember, set the goals, create the time frames and make them realistic and achievable. And just like every...thing else, if you need help, make sure you seek out a professional. #movewellmoveoften

25.01.2022 It was cooler this morning, yes, but for many of us we can still move later in the day. Try not to let a slower start to the derail your activity for the day. If you still struggle for motivation, make sure you work with us to help provide the 'push' that you may need

22.01.2022 Let's change it to 'with exception to supplements...' #movewellmoveoften #embracerecovery #chocolatemilkforthewin

16.01.2022 The journey to your goal is not a straight line, you're going to have moments where you have sneaky treats, don't feel like training or struggle to restart after a layoff (even though you know you should be moving). Not everyone is super motivated, and it is ok to ask for outside help for guidance and direction. Exercising with friends is a great option (check out the small group training package) or see how a personal trainer can help you reboot and reset. #movewellmoveoften, #strengthandconditioning, #yougotthis, #thefirststep

16.01.2022 Strava is a great tool to help you track your daily steps or km's moved (cycle, walk, swim or run). The base level is a free version and by joining a Strava Club you can not only record your own progress, but also encourage like minded exercisers to improve theirs. Click on the link, create an account and start the journey to a healthier you. #movewellmoveoften, #strengthandconditioning, #strengthtraining

11.01.2022 Again, this is changing all the time...let's be patient, if we all do the right thing now we will be back to normal sooner rather than later

10.01.2022 For those who are returning to activity after a break in routine, be sure to look over the infographic for tips to best return safely to exercise. #movewellmoveoften

08.01.2022 It's now been over a month since gym started closing their doors, which also means that it may be over a month since you bought that exercise equipment for home. 07.01.2022 Sometimes headlines can be misleading even though the content inside is solid. Aim to learn to use your BS filter effectively; read to understand, look for vested interest and if you are still unsure, seek help from an industry professional. https://www.runnersworld.com//exercise-vs-diet-maintain-/

07.01.2022 Unpopular opinion...I'm that coach that will not prescribe burpees. I like to use the parts, but not the whole. https://www.menshealth.com///burpee-workout-deconstructed/

07.01.2022 While we can't do everything right now, we can still do a lot of things right now #lookforthepositives If you have wearable technology and your want to get more out of it, or if you are interested in HIIT but last time you tried it just didn't feel right, contact us so we can give you the greatest possible chance for success #movewellmoveoften

07.01.2022 Injuries suck! Being hurt, sucks! Unfortunately they are a part of life. For some exercisers, though, they occur more frequently than they need to. Injuries can be chronic (over time) or traumatic (single event). For exercisers, the chronic injury is one you have the most level of control over, so long as you know how to identify dynamic movement patterns then create a strength balance and also understand the relationships of movement that occurs at a joint. ... If you are unsure, that is where you should work with an experienced trainer. Programs may need to be adjusted to in relation to workload, exercise selection or even frequency. Make sure you select a trainer with knowledge, experience and a willingness to listen to your needs. #movewellmoveoften

07.01.2022 Caught this last week on Britains Got Talent...so much energy, so much passion and commitment to their craft. Grab a cuppa, sit back for 10 minutes and enjoy!!

06.01.2022 Setback - 'an event that delays your progress or reverses some of the progress that you have made.' Setbacks happen all the time when training, colds/flu, travel, changes at work, a coronavirus! While it is not possible to always avoid them, it is possible to turn them into speed bumps rather than road blocks Make sure that you surround yourself with positive people, it is ok to be selective with the people you surround yourself with.... Write. There is something so peaceful in writing down your thoughts and it also helps for you to 'reset' Sometimes you need to go back and remember why you started...start investing in yourself now to make sure you're ready for the next step in your journey. Believe in yourself!!! #movewellmoveoften

06.01.2022 Functional training is not all about balance balls and unusual positions... it is about creating strength in a safe environment to call upon when you find yourself in a dynamic, uncontrolled environment. If you would like to find out how you can build a body that is fit for purpose for yourself, your sporting team, or your workforce, contact me at any time

04.01.2022 When asked about training, people often say that they 'want to look like 'x'', or 'want to look like a *insert sport here* player. Believe it or not, this approach is not discouraged...everyone has to have a goal to work toward, and this may be theirs. Their workouts, then, must be designed to meet their goals. For some, it is a big step up from what they are doing, for others, they may need to wind their training back. If you have a goal and you are not sure on how to... approach it, shoot me a message and let me help you to get there. #movewellmoveoften

03.01.2022 Box jumps...a great exercise for developing power for people. It must be remembered, though, that these are exercises that need to be progressed to. We did a great job as kids developing the required patterns (running, skipping, hopping, jumping), but then we stopped. If you are looking at bringing them back into your life, make sure you create a strong foundation for them to be both safe and effective. If you are unsure of what to do, or how to progress... to these jumps, shoot me a message for help. #movewellmoveoften

01.01.2022 Not just for the snacks...
