20.01.2022 In October 2020, there were multiple changes to be made regarding Australian Partner visa. 1. The allocation for Australian Partner Visa increased from 47,000 to 72,300. This means the processing times will be shorter, and priority will be given to applicants who are already in Australia (onshore applicants), as well as for sponsors who reside in regional Australia. 2. Partner Visa applicants must be able to display a functional level of English or be able to show genuine ...attempts at learning English. Mr Alan Tudge, who is the Acting Minister For Immigration, Citizenship, Migrant Services and Multicultural Affairs, said the goal of this English requirement is to ensure that the applicants will be able to integrate into Australian society, as well as to improve their employability in Australia. It is also anticipated that the risk of abuse will be reduced if the applicants have functional English skills. The implementation of this English requirement is expected to take place in 2021. 3. There will be an additional sponsorship fee of AUD $ 420 on top of the application fee of AUD $7,715.The date for this implementation of the extra fee is unknown, but it is likely to be implemented shortly. Recommence grants of student visas in all locations lodged outside Australia. 2. Free visa application charge (VACs) for international students who lodge further student visa applications, if they were unable to complete their studies within their original visa validity due to COVID-19. 3. Current st...udent visa holders studying online outside Australia due to COVID-19 will have study counted towards the Australia study requirements for a post-study work visa. 4. Graduates who held a student visa will be eligible to apply for post-study work visa outside Australia if they are unable to return due to COVID-19. 5. Additional time will be given for applications to provide English language results where COVID-19 had disrupted access to these services.
