24.01.2022 Hi guys, if you can offer help in the way of trades/logistics/labour to bushfire victims check out Tradies, Truckers and Volunteers, for Bushfire Victims It’s Australia wide; let’s get this page off the ground so people can start to access assistance to rebuild. We met tradies and truck drivers on our donation run who were more than willing to help, they just didn’t know how.... If you can’t offer assistance, you CAN assist the page by giving it a ‘like’ and inviting your friends to join. Hopefully this page is the answer to their needs

24.01.2022 There’s ALOT of people so eager to give to and support the communities directly affected by recent events, there’s no way we can thank everyone personally, but we hope you all know how much your support has done. We’d like to do a shout out to these two businesses that have quietly offered their support, with no expectation of public recognition (which is why we want to thank them even more!), just because it was needed. An enormous thank you to Rhonda from ACT Skip Hire ...who has provided a skip to Southside collection point to help with the sorting process. Without providing specific details, we had the absolute good fortune of meeting Stu, the delivery driver of the skip.. a legend! And let’s just say Mr and Mrs Market have a new name on our Christmas card list this year! Thanks so much Stu x And another enormous thank you goes to Paul from The Runnerd Shop who has provided mountains of new and near new footwear for those that are displaced and/or have lost property recently. Not only did Paul work today, he also made two deliveries to us (because it wouldn’t all fit in one trip!) and tomorrow he is heading out to Adaminaby as an RFS member to help contain the numerous fires down that way. Amazing. And to each of you that have given, sorted, delivered, packed and responded to the callouts for supplies or help, or provided shelter - no matter what charity or organisation you gave it to.. we think you’re all fabulous! Thank you.

24.01.2022 This is why I’ve asked for our clothes to be sorted into sizes and sex.... the army base here in batemans bay is basically a dumping ground for unsorted and unusable clothes! No charity will touch them either. It’s very upsetting! We love that all of your donations were sorted for us and for the people that need them!!

23.01.2022 PLEASE STOP DUMPING DONATIONS!! We have posted multiple times that we are not accepting anymore donations! I have come home today to the front of my house being dumped with donations again! This is not ok! I have been down the coast for the past two days and haven’t been able to do anything about it! ... I appreciate your trying help the bushfire victims but we have posted multiple times to hold onto your donations or take them to Fiona in wanniassa!

23.01.2022 Is there any handy people that want to get into making these for us to take up too?

23.01.2022 HELPING EACH OTHER WITH DELIVERY WITHIN ACT AND SURROUNDING REGION: please comment on this thread if you can collect clothing in your suburb as some people are unable to get to our drop-off locations. Similarly, if you have clothing you’d like help getting delivered, please post on this thread. Please note Due to the sheer volume of donations, we are unable to match delivery drivers to people donating and vice versa; this is something you’ll need to coordinate here on the... thread, yourselves. Please be mindful when sharing your address and other personal information with strangers, perhaps meet in a public location if that is more comfortable. Thanks and stay safe K & B

21.01.2022 Look at this! In the back of the truck is all the donations I received today of blankets, pillows and mattresses! Another truck to finish loading up and the boys are on there way down! Our clothes will be heading down as soon as we are allowed through, so looking like Tuesday.

16.01.2022 Yesterday was our first of many trips down to our fire affect sister state! It was very confronting and hit us hard but we won’t stop doing what we are doing and helping these people who have lost everything. Brooke and Chris, I can’t thank you enough for everything you did for our cause yesterday! We had many laughs, tears and hugs. I couldn’t think of any two other people to join me on the trip yesterday. Chris’s company Gabler Electrical paid for the truck for us to get ...these donations to these wonderful people Fiona you are a legend for manning the fort for us yesterday and replying to people and opening up your shop! We will keep helping these people as long as they need it! They won’t be left without anything as long as we can help *warning* some of these photos are confronting.

Focusing now on our Thoughts and Wishes Bags and preparing them for when it’s suitable to distribute to those that need it.... Did we say thank you? THANK YOU!!!!! Xx

14.01.2022 In light of the terrible air quality this morning we have decided to postpone any collections planned for Southside (The Markets Wanniassa 10-2) this morning... volunteers should not be out in this air quality, and people donating shouldn’t either. We will update at 3pm which will depend on weather conditions too. Thanks everyone, stay safe Just to recap... The Markets Wanniassa is Closed today, therefore will not be collecting donations

07.01.2022 Some more help today I the love given by all for the community Thank you

07.01.2022 We have once again been astounded at the response to the callout.. how good is our community?! As a result, we will no longer be taking donation of clothing from 2pm tomorrow (5 January) at either locations.. we have loads of clothing sorted into sizes and gender, which are set to be collected on Monday and will be transported directly to the coast in a 16 tonne truck! Thank you everybody for contributing so generously. We will be concentrating on getting the truck on its wa...y on Monday.. and will start fresh and new on Wednesday with a different focus... We will be collecting items for our Thoughts & Wishes Bags... the idea is to provide each displaced person with a bag of NEW essential and non essential items (lists below). If you would like to donate a complete bag that would be amazing, or if you prefer to donate any of the items below we can make the bags up too. The bags can be of any type, as long as they are secured closed (zip, drawstring etc) to ensure the contents are secured for transportation. Each bag will be labeled with the age and/or gender of intended recipient, and then distributed to those that need it. We would also love to include a note, a message, a card or something personal in each bag, so those receiving them know there are so many people thinking of and supporting them. Each bag will ideally have the following basic items TOWEL HAT DRINK BOTTLE TOOTHBRUSH TOOTHPASTE SUNSCREEN BRUSH/COMB NOTEBOOK PEN/PENCILS The following items are suggested additions to each bag, listed in group type. 07.01.2022 USED UNDERWEAR and tattered clothing. Hi everyone! Thanks so much again for getting involved. Yes, unfortunately we’ve had some used underwear and very tatty clothing delivered.... These things pose issues both in relation to hygiene and to us now having to dispose of clothing instead of focusing on what this drive is about. If you can donate brand new underwear with tags - FANTASTIC, but otherwise please don’t send us this as it just slows us down and it’s unpleasant. It costs money and time to dispose of these things; this is ALL volunteer work and additional strain simply isn’t needed. THANKYOU again for everything so far; the community spirit is alive and well in the ACT and surrounding district. Stay safe and remember to have your bushfire evacuation plans ready. (Photo for attention)

04.01.2022 URGENT: VENTALIN INHALERS Can anyone donate inhalers for tomorrow’s in to Nowra? We have received a request from people down in the evacuation centre. Thanks

04.01.2022 I didn’t want to have to start a go fund me account but all the work we are doing is going much beyond clothes donations now and with my first cash donation from Jayson for stuff that has been requested by the people on the coast I thought why not do both! We will still do Clothes donations again soon but at the moment they are using the 6 tones we took down!! How good is that!! ... And with the amazing response to the washing powder, dishwashing liquid and medical kits requested we will be buying a lot more for different towns!! Our next town is Moruya for dishwashing liquid and washing powder as they literally only have 1 bottle at Anglicare!! I will be hiring a small truck to take Down the shoes and some Clothes as well as things that are needed! And the rest of the money will Be paying for credit cards for families for their care packs so they can put the money back into their respective towns on perishables You guys are amazing!! And thank you again https://www.gofundme.com/f/clothes-off-our-backs-bushfire-v
