24.01.2022 WEEK 9 of our "In The Words of Poirot" series . I see 'Murder on the Orient Express' was on TV again...fabulous. As I said before - I really like the latest film version...but David Suchet's 'made for Television' version was also superb! I am just reading Christies 'The Clocks'...if you don't know this one - get it...great opening puzzle for Poirot to solve.... Some people felt that the extremely large moustache worn by Kenneth Branagh in his film version of 'Murder on the Orient Express' was perhaps rather overdoing it! Having read so may of Agatha's descriptions of Poirot facial hair - I am now of the opinion that he was about right! David Suchet's neat and waxed version now seems way too small! Any comments?... Last week I did say that after reading lots of Agatha Christie's stories - I felt that David Suchet's moustache was just too neat...however...everything else about his creation of the little Belgian was so spot on.
