25.01.2022 WANT TO SUPPORT OUR LOCAL CAFES & RESTAURANTS? Choose Local owner Kelli Ponting was chatting to a local cafe owner this morning and asking how trade was going. The owner was super happy to be trading after being shut for nearly 3 months, but he shared it was still tough because of people dining in and just ordering a coffee. With the limited seats, profits are already compromised as businesses need to fund the same overheads, but have less opportunities to pay those costs. ... While our great small business owners would never compromise the level of service given to every customer that walked through the doors, if someone sits in and has just a coffee, they are making maybe 50c per person. But those people have water served to their table, require the cup to be cleared and washed, use napkins, require the table to be wiped down etc. All of those costs come off that 50c they are making. That leisurely coffee we enjoy while reading the paper? Its actually costing them money! So until these guys can trade at capacity, if you want to sit in at one of our local fabulous cafes and restaurants, enjoy a meal too. The meal has more margin and covers all those little costs from dining in. If its just coffee, think about grabbing a take away and enjoy a stroll or sit in the park and leave space for the diners who will buy a meal.

16.01.2022 Here's a fun fact for your Wednesday afternoon - if you lift a kangaroo's tail off the ground, it can't hop. Kangaroos use their tails for balance whilst hopping, so if you elevate their tail, they would have no balance and fall over. Although, we're not too keen to try this out - we don't fancy a potential kick from a kangaroo.

Well-watered, fertile and comprising over 220 hectares, the farm was also used as a place to keep female convicts. The origin of its name apparently arose from eagles being observed around the farm.
