When I talk with people before the meeting, I pre-frame the subject, so people know what is going on and don't have surprises. Going to a meeting, I already have an idea of what key messages need to be. If you are in business, it may look spontaneous, but my suggestion is to be the person who thought ahead about what needs to happen to have a successful meeting ahead. All the seeds you are planting today will pay off in the weeks ahead. Do not turn up to a meeting 'hey, what should we talk about?'. Always have clear AGENDA, not in writing, have in your mind.
