19.01.2022 Coaches.. If you are casual about practice preparation and performance, then you can't be frustrated during games about a lack of intensity, focus and discipline. The best coaches at every level are a little OCD about practice. Prepare with purpose or prepare to be beaten by those that do. You can never over-plan.

10.01.2022 As coaches we do set the example, not by what we want our players to be as athletes but also as people outside of sport and potential future coaches. Our actions, physically and vocally, are constantly being watched. To have that sort of impact on a person is a privilege and not to be taken for granted.

06.01.2022 A year ago I got to work with these young stars. They are from Collingwoods Next Gen Academy. We didn’t get too many sessions together and many come from the Yarra Magpies Programme. None this year due to Covid, so expect next years talent to be more fired up. These programmes are essential to the development and polish of the young talent coming through. More and more female players getting drafted this year and in future years, will be players from these programmes, and w...ill be better prepared for the high performance games. Encourage your club players to trial for these programmes, and talk with them about their learnings. Lots can be shared back with your club teams, and another layer of development will happen. 01.01.2022 Setup for another Game analysis session. I have been easing in higher performance standards for my Premier grade team at this Sydney AFL Club. Players love the feedback and learning opportunities. Having some game footage is a valuable tool for analyzing the match and developing your players. There are now companies available for hire who can film matches for you if your organization isn’t. It’s great even if used once or twice in a season.
