25.01.2022 Research shows that parents who move, inspire their children to move. In fact in one study, researchers put pedometers on parents and their kids and measured th...e results. The kids ranged from 5 to 19 in age, and there was an even distribution of boys and girls. For every 1,000 steps or more per day a father took, his son’s increased by over 300 and his daughter’s increased by nearly 300. For every 1,000 steps more a mother took, her son experienced about the same increase as with the father, and her daughter took a little over 200 steps more. When either the father or mother took 3,000 more steps per day, there was a 1.9 to 2.5 times increase in the chance that the child would be in the upper two tertiles (the top 66%) of children for activity. In other words - when you move, they move If you'd like more inspiration check out our FREE Exercise Right for Kids eBook: https://bit.ly/ExerciseforKidseBook Source: https://ijbnpa.biomedcentral.com/art/10.1186/1479-5868-10-8

19.01.2022 What's the relationship between EXERCISE and SLEEP? Numerous studies have shown that exercise improves sleep quality. Better sleep gives you more energy. Mo...re energy makes it easier to exercise - it's a wonderful cycle. How does exercise help us sleep? Exposure to natural light (if you can exercise outside) sets our body's sleep rhythms Leads to an increase in body temperature which can induce drowsiness (a morning or afternoon workout is best) Relives stress and anxiety to help you relax Being active tires you out and increases your sleep drive Good quality sleep is essential for optimum health. Aim for 30 minutes of exercise per day and improve your sleep! Learn more on our blog: exerciseright.com.au/tired-of-being-tired-poor-sleep-exerc/ #ExerciseRight

17.01.2022 Virtually everyone knows that a healthy lifestyle never smoking, normal body-mass index (BMI), moderate-to-vigorous physical activity, moderate alcohol intake..., and a higher-quality diet is good for their health. What very few people know is just how much benefit they get from achieving all these lifestyle goals. A Harvard team examined data from about 111,000 people at age 50 and followed them prospectively for as long as 34 years. Healthy lifestyle factors were measured repeatedly and systematically, and development of various diseases and death were recorded. The primary endpoint was life expectancy free from diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, and cancer...and the results were very interesting! Women who met all the healthy lifestyle measures had an additional 10.7 years of disease-free life compared with women who met no healthy lifestyle measures. For men, the number was 7.6 additional disease-free years. Will this motivate you move more? #ExerciseRight
