15.01.2022 Today is World Physiotherapy Day a day to recognise the important role physiotherapists play in healthcare and the wider community. Physiotherapy and physical... activity play an important role in helping people recover from severe illness. World Physio Day 2020 is focused on rehabilitation after COVID-19, but here in Australia we are recognising the importance of physiotherapy rehabilitation after all types of severe respiratory illness. During 2020, innovative applications of physio practice have been at the forefront of administering high quality healthcare. 13.01.2022 Take care everybody in these difficult times. If you need to isolate, please do. If you have elderly relatives get them to stay at home and stay safe. Keep washing your hands and if your coming in for urgent/essential treatment please try and come alone to minimise the number of people coming into the clinic. The team are still here, or by phone/email for help and advise if you need them. #flatten the curve and save our hospitals and medical centres from being overwhelmed

13.01.2022 Although we’re supposed to be in isolation, you can still exercise and go for a great walk! https://www.the-scientist.com//how-does-nature-influence-h

10.01.2022 It is Migraine & Headache Awareness Week 2020. Physical conditions such as back and neck pain, stiff and painful muscles, especially in scalp, jaw, neck, shoul...ders, and upper back can trigger migraines. For those without migraines imagine you may have had severe headache, difficulty standing, sensitivity to bright lights or noise, nausea, and dizziness, or your worst hangover. Now imagine that occurring at any time. If physical complaints impact your migraine you can see your local osteopath for advice and to help reduce those physical factors. Find your local osteopathy here: https://www.osteopathy.org.au/find-an-osteo

10.01.2022 Ready to get back to the gym post-iso? Be sure to follow these tips from physios around Australia to make your return without injury as smooth as possible. Wa...rm-up and cool-down properly using stretching, foam-rolling and icing techniques to aid in your recovery. Drop your pre-iso weight by 20-30% and gradually increase the weight over four-eight weeks depending on your age and fitness level. Get your form checked by a professional and ensure you are controlled and slow in your repetitions. Don't go too hard, too early! Build up to your pre-iso levels as your muscles and tendons will have likely shrunk, making you more susceptible to injury. Check in with your local physio to avoid injury and manage your return to full capacity. 01.01.2022 From the 1st December we now have a QR code you have to scan when you come in for your appointment! There is a paper copy too if you do not have a smart phone! Masks are also now mandatory for client and practitioner, they have to be single use surgical masks. Please be patient at this time, it is a new way of working for all of us.
