17.01.2022 I've spent all my life either on or in the water and have well and truly paid the price for those years in the sun. My dermatologist and plastic surgeon mate both reckon if the keep burning, or scaping and chopping off bits of me, that I'll end up being buried in a matchbox. 17.01.2022 A lot of people are talking about the lagoon at Double Island Point as a good anchorage and it may be the case, for small or shallow draft vessels, but there has been some problems recently for deeper draft vessels and yachts when anchoring there. Here''s a warning on it issued by Coast Guard Tin Can Bay QF17 "If you have not been to DIP recently this is the lagoon area with its sandbanks etc Watch out for shallowing areas when anchoring in this area, see previous posts we have had to tow stranded vessels off sand banks. This area is 20 NM from TCB, it takes us over an hour to reach you, providing the WBB is passable. Our running costs are expensive to get there and back, be careful ... admin"
