13.01.2022 ***Important Notice*** Due to changes to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) in June 2020, there are new restrictions and conditions around the prescribing of opiate medications such as Codeine, Morphine, Tramadol and Fentanyl. For longer term opiate therapy, the PBS requires a review every 12 months by another GP or pain specialist to evaluate chronic pain and clinical need for continuing treatment. Repeat or authority scripts cannot be issued until this requirement is... met. CPHCC will assist patients through this process, including education and support. Please note when scripts are issued they will be sent electronically to your preferred local pharmacy. In keeping with the CPHCC policy, there will be zero tolerance of any unacceptable behaviours including verbal abuse, threats or physical intimidation.
