22.01.2022 Have you been to @clydeparkwines one of our long time legendary partners what is interesting is Although they're two completely different substances, coffee and wine share certain similarities that go beyond affecting our overall mood. ... Aroma, body, mouthfeel, and acidity are all common words that are used by coffee and wine connoisseurs around the world. CLYDE PARK Delectably fine wine and magnificent views are what you can expect from the Clyde Park vineyard. Its locati...on on the truly unique hills surrounding the Moorabool River, thirty kilometres north of Geelong, places Clyde Park at the forefront of cool-climate viticulture. The history of Clyde Park and the Bannockburn region dates back to the 1800s when the area was first explored. The site was initially developed around 1837 by a group known as the Clyde Company. It was thought that these partners had come from the lowlands of Scotland, not far from the Clyde River. Their close proximity to the river was where the name, The Clyde Company, originated from. This group of settlers thus named the land and its surrounds, Clyde Park. See more

20.01.2022 1- BRAZIL COFFEE INDUSTRY This month we will focus on helping educate you on the 51, coffee-growing countries that grow coffee. We will start with the highest coffee producing countries in regards to production to the smallest. While along the journey, I can write about our experience working in some of these countries with its people its culture, and industry. Brazil is responsible for about a third of all the world coffee, which it has held top spot for over 100 years, Whi...ch makes this a powerhouse country in coffee that produced a record 3.8 million-ton crop in 2018-19. It produces about 44,200,000 60kg bags a year. Still until recently Brazil had focused on commodity coffee production though has seen a great movement of specialty coffee in that last 5 years both domestically and internationally. Coffee plantations, are huge in Brazil some covering some 27,000 km2 (10,000 sq mi), are mainly located in the southeastern states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo and Paraná where the environment and climate provide ideal growing conditions. We do not have that opinion of its a country of quantity over quality. Even though it is the largest producer of commercial-grade coffee in the world, Brazil has the biggest impact on the global coffee market and last year coffee price crisis of 2019 was actually caused by an over-production of coffee in Brazil Because of this, the majority of buyers were not concerned with buying newer crop, and as such the commodity price of coffee spend more than 6 months below $1 USD well below the cost of production. This has more to do with demand for coffee than anything about Brazilian coffee. This really demonstrates Brazil’s power as a mover and shaker in the coffee world. Brazil has also impressively pioneered a litany of Automatic Harvesting technology. If we are going to talk about Automation on the barista front, it’s still worth acknowledging Brazil has been making strides in mechanically harvesting better quality coffee. Interesting fact we have never purchased or sourced brazil coffee at cartel, not for any other reason other than that our focus has been on other countries for our direct trade over the years. 18.01.2022 Ethiopia’s coffee production for MY20/21 (Oct-Sep) is forecast to be 7.5 million 60-kilogram bags (450,000 metric tons). Exports are forecast to reach a record 4.12 million bags (247,200 metric tons). Ethiopia is the largest coffee producer in Africa and the fifth largest producer in the world and accounts for 4.2% of the global coffee production. Ethiopians are among the largest coffee consumers in Africa and the coffee consumption trend in Ethiopia is growing at a steady pace. Almost 50% of the country’s coffee production is consumed domestically. If you are interested in the finest Ethiopian coffees that come into Australia come say hello or get online and check out portfolio.

12.01.2022 Have you ever had a natural processed Kenyan Coffee? They are becoming more common, but still rather rare, as Kenya is known for its 72 hour washed process. This is a very cool project from Jamii Coffee Who’s ethos is If we can’t touch the farmer, we won’t touch the coffee. It’s part of a new wave of traceability to coffee not only in Kenya, but across many African Coffee Producing countries. What does it taste like though? Dates, Fruitcake, Red Wine We have always been pass...ionate about Natural coffees. While all coffees have intent and quality in mind, the obvious diversity of natural flavours has always been a major draw to us. We find flavour to be the best communicator of the work that farmers put into coffee. available online filter espresso or at one of our legandary wholesale accounts. bringing out some new on some new blends this week also. 09.01.2022 Hey Cool kids, Cartel Roasters in Melbourne is looking for someone who wants to do a mix of day and some evenings. To be honest it is hard to tell where things are going to sit for the moment hours wise, but our evenings and wines are definitely picking up so we're gonna need some help. Ideally this role will suit a solid all rounder with good customer service skills who's cool to work independently through busy and quiet periods. This would likely suit someone who likes to have a chat about some coffee and some wine, and can quickly jump between the workflow between the 2. Can contact me here, or email CV to [email protected]
