Privately run husband and wife caravan parks, thanks to all the new politics and crazy ruling and crazy councils decisions are becoming extinct so we need your support. Happy and safe travelling.

20.01.2022 Thank you to all fellow travellers passing by Colac and our former business nice to hear news and comments. Meredith park and Free Camping or R.V. Friendly Town is a movement who is still growing stronger, I do not envy any Caravan Park owners, business must be tough. Glad also that we are avoiding those crazy winds Colac has been battered by, those poor old sick cypress must have took a beating. Well keep travelling and enjoy Free and ask for more Free, Colac information Centre should have power station with 15 amps outlet to recharge batteries of travellers. Keep asking, and maybe one day we may get a Free Beer , will it be nice ..lol

18.01.2022 Good morning every one Just wanting to clarified on a point, I can speak 4 languages but one thing is certain we only speak English at home, so much so that none of our 2 children can speak my native language which is not French like so many of you think but Occitan. Only our youngest son inherited my gift of learning languages and learn to speak French at Colac High School. So yes we do speak English, but yes I can and try to keep practising my other languages as often as I can, and for example my own language I start to forget most of the grammar

17.01.2022 The real funny part is that if you camp for Free in one of our shire camping grounds, such as Meredith Park and the fact that is a dead end road if a fire happen and it will because you can have a non regulated camp fire, also the fact that you can cramp as many caravans, tents ..as the word Free can allow well the fact that it is non C.F.A. compliant .... Free Camping mean you have the Free Right to camp there and burn alive free of charge.. Funny hey mainly when we know most of bushfire are caused by free and wild camping.

Well after our very long awaited break and hoping that Federal, State and local Council law will finally give us a break... well how wrong we are. Please admire those pictures attached of us digging trenches on Father Day just to change or Fire Hydrant to a higher position than before. Funny hey because our own Council open everywhere Crown Land as Free camp ground and the best is that they do not yes they do not have to comply with the new C.F.A. ruling.

10.01.2022 Let me explain, Mid 2005 we invested our own money in this Shire, worst decision we made and no one care. Funny hey!!! We invested everything to purchase the Colac Caravan & Cabin Park, it was an absolute dump full of permanents all of them, bludgers and Bogans passing their time on drinks, drugs, and swearing, and as for cleaning and looking after our property they were renting then forget it. 08.01.2022 Well with all the strong winds, the sick old cypress must have took a hell of battering. The place by now must surely be far from the way it was by what we heard. Well one thing is for sure those cypress trees can only get sicker and dying slowly, bloody shame that canker.

06.01.2022 Please allow me one more clarification. We did our researches before purchasing the Colac Caravan & Cabin Park, but not easy to purchase a business on a land of different rules and law you grew up. And it was clear we had to clean up the park and rebuilt every thing and turn it into a Grey nomads caravan park. Less than 3 years after we accomplish this and enjoyed the pleasure to see that we were right, everything worked. ... The Colac Otway Shire open up free camping grounds on ratepayers money and advertised them on ratepayers money, and promoted them through 2 information centre paid on ratepayers money. So from one day to the next we lost more than 80% of our business, right now for power sites we have only 2 sites occupied and in camping sites 0 Yes 0 Now the C.R.V.A. and R.A.C.V and many more organisations made tons of independent studies and Free Camping Grounds provide far less benefits and more running costs than regulated commercial caravan parks. Now if I was so wrong why my letters and myself, Why was I ban from the Colac Otway Shire Council Facebook page in under 10 minutes??? Now the money to purchase the park and fix it came up from my country, and the taxes I was paying before the Council kill our business and indirectly the business of the community of Colac was all money to help directly or indirectly the entire country of Australia. Now a dead business who can not compete against Free bring nothing to the country and may ended up like and old disused petrol station, is that better ??? See more

02.01.2022 Also do you know about a Fire Levy who so-call is fairer to every one??? Really funny from $332.00 I pay last year. This year under the new better and fairer levy I need to pay $634.62 Also those new fire hydrants need to be tagged and tested every 6 months, the same for every fire extinguishers, fire blankets, etc.. to an extra cost of nearly $600.00 a year. Also our water meter had to be upgraded to a new outlet for fire hydrant resulting on a quarterly charge by the name o...f Fire Service Charge of $59.40 or $237.60 per year. Very soon the C.F.A of Victoria will be so rich that they will all drive red Ferraris and pay some poor bastards to fight fire for them, and all the small businesses will burn themselves to touch the insurance to save themselves from bankruptcy.
