25.01.2022 Type 1 diabetes doesnt discriminate. Every day, 7 people will be diagnosed with this lifelong disease. A journey many of you have experienced. Thats 7 familie...s whose lives will be changed forever. The Whittaker familys 7-year-old son Walker was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in January last year. It was incredibly difficult and heartbreaking for the family to accept his diagnosis. With JDRF Australia on their side, the Whittakers have been provided with much-needed comfort in their time of need. For 24 hours only, on 11 June, your support of JDRF Australia will be matched. There is no greater opportunity to change a life than this! Donate at www.charidy.com/jdrf on or before 11 June to ensure your impact is doubled and help change lives.

23.01.2022 Sometimes, you may be surprised by the reading when you check your blood glucose level. If it doesnt seem right to you, there are a couple of things you can ch...eck. Did you wash your hands and dry them well before you did the check? Have the strips expired? Is the strip the correct one for the meter? Was there enough blood on the strip? Did you put the strip into the meter correctly? Have the strips been affected by climate, heat or light? Is the meter clean? Is the meter too hot or cold? Is the battery low? 20.01.2022 So, how has our work at IFL Australia changed since Covid-19? Covid -19 has had a huge impact on our work at Insulin for Life Australia. We have had to destroy... some insulin because it has expired, as we have been unable to send supplies. Many countries borders have been closed, and have not been accepting ant supplies. Australia had also placed an embargo on certain countries. Thankfully, some restrictions have now been lifted and we have sent to Ecuador, the Central African Republic, Timor- Leste and Pacific Island nations. We pray that this situation only continues to improve. #savinglivesaroundtheworld #InsulinforLife

14.01.2022 Hi to all people living with Diabetes. Remember to be super careful with social distancing and hand washing and managing your diabetes- whether you have type one or two or gestational diabetes. If you get sick with Corvid19 then your diabetes control will be very hard to manage and some oral diabetes medications will need to be stopped as they can make your diabetes health worse. Make sure that you have diabetes specialists ( experienced endocrinologist or doctors or creden...tialed educators) involved with your care if you are infected with the Corvid19 virus. The British diabetes health team have made up a very comprehension guideline for managing diabetes for any one with Corvid19. Also dont leave it to the last day of your medication supply to have prescribed medication made up at a pharmacy. Sow areas are short of supplies and need time to get more in. Take care to look after yourself and make your sick day plan. See more
