19.01.2022 A sincere thank you to our parents, carers, staff and school community for supporting the children throughout Remote & Flexible Learning. All grades will be onsite from Tuesday June 9th. We look forward to being together to continue our learning. Many supports and alterations are in place to support health, safety and well-being. 19.01.2022 The Victorian government can assist eligible families with little or nothing in their pantries with emergency relief packages. Families can register their need for 2 weeks worth of food, by calling Victorias corona-virus hotline on 1800 675 398. For eligible families, the packages will contain items such as long-life milk, pasta, cereal, canned vegetables and sugar. Personal care packages containing soap, toothpaste and deodorant are also available for eligible households. The program is being run by the Red Cross in partnership with Food-bank Victoria, under the direction of the State Relief Coordinator.

Parents and carers play a vital role in helping children feel safe through uncertain times. Dr Carr-Greggs webinar is aptly named Managing the Coronacoaster Tips for building resilient families in the coronavirus era. In this webinar, Dr Carr-Gregg provides tools and strategies for parents and carers to help manage the lockdown and remote learning. Topics include: your supportive role setting the emotional tone focusing on what you can control how to deal with disappointment further resources and where to get help. 17.01.2022 Cooking returned this week with the Kitchen Garden Program back up and running. Our trees have fruited and the plums were used by our Grade 5 & 6 class to make an Upside-down Plum Cake which was served with ice-cream - YUM!

15.01.2022 At Colac Primary School, our core Additional Language is Chinese (Mandarin). We are looking forward to continuing our learning in 2021 with our tutors based in Beijing. Our Chinese language tutors are currently on holiday due to the annual Chinese/Lunar New Year celebrations, so we will see them on-screen later in the month. Lunar New Year is one of the biggest celebrations on the Chinese and south-east Asian calendar. This year the date falls on Friday, February 12, with ...celebrations continuing beyond that. 2021 is the Year of the Metal Ox, which symbolises diligence, honesty, reliability, stability, perseverance, power, stubbornness and excellence. Colac Primary School wishes everyone a Happy Lunar New Year!

14.01.2022 Following advice from the Department of Education and Training we will be moving to remote and flexible learning from Term 2, to help slow the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). This means that all students who can learn at home must learn from home. This is a very clear directive from the Victorian Government based on the advice of the Chief Health Officer. ... 13.01.2022 Welcome to our 2021 Prep students! Our incoming Prep students have been invited to Colac Primary School for a short transition session on Monday November 16th. We are excited to meet our new students. COVID Safe procedures apply and children will undertake a 20 minute session with one of our Prep staff. Children may have one parent accompany them to school. Adults must wear face masks and abide by social distancing protocols. ... Families have been allocated times, so if you are unsure please contact the school by phone for your session time. Our students, staff and families have demonstrated so many acts of kindness this year, often in very challenging times. We value kindness as a school and will enjoy the opportunity tomorrow to 'spread kindness like confetti'. Students and staff are encouraged to wear any shade of green for Kindness Day and to celebrate both kindness and gratitude within our community whilst spreading our message far and wide: Kindness Matters! 05.01.2022 Wow - what a great week of cooking we've had this week: the creations - Ham, Zucchini and Feta Muffins, followed by Banana Bread. The students had a great lunch outside with table centrepieces of fresh flowers and lots of sunshine. It is great to see our Kitchen Garden program in action!

Please remember that physical distancing is required for all adults and entry to school grounds is limited. We will have our friendly staff ready to meet students and assist on both sides of the school grounds tomorrow morning.
