21.01.2022 Regrettably, we have just found out our regular hall is unavailable this Saturday 31-Oct-20 as it is being used as a polling place in this weekend's state election. Take the weekend off, remember to vote, get yourself a democracy snag (if available), and we'll see you next Saturday (7-Nov-20) instead!

20.01.2022 Fantastic intake for Feb 2020. Thanks to all who came down to fight, see you next week for training

19.01.2022 Thanks to the awesome efforts of Qld's contact tracers and health professionals, it appears Qld has averted ongoing community transmission of Covid-19 thus far. As a result, we are once again welcoming students from all over SE Qld to resume attendance at classes at the normal time and place (10am at Bracken Ridge State School Hall). Students are welcome to attend so long as you are feeling well and you are not in isolation due to Covid (such as awaiting a Covid test result...). If you have any questions or concerns, please contact us to discuss.

17.01.2022 As a result of the worsening Australian situation with Covid-19, Collegium in Armis will be suspending in-person classes until further notice. We will resume regular classes when the community risk from C-19 is sufficiently under control to allow our members to train safely. Keep an eye out here for updates. So that everyone can continue to train in the meantime, we are planning on producing some video resources. Stay tuned for those. ... Keep your spirits up, your swords sharp, your hands washed, and remember that distance management is a key fencing skill, so keep your distance when out in public.

13.01.2022 Australian HEMA getting a nice mention on the ABC, courtesy of some of our good friends including Jim Campbell and Ursa Major in Perth. If you're in Brisbane and would like to begin learning the art of the longsword, drop in to one of our classes and see what all the excitement is about! You don't need anything to begin except enthusiasm. https://www.abc.net.au//surge-in-swordfighting-i/12673932

01.01.2022 In light of the escalating risk from COVID-19 it's important to take sensible precautions. At the moment Collegium in Armis classes are proceeding as normal. If you are coming to class, please practice good hygiene and avoid touching other people's gear or sharing water bottles, towels etc. If you need to sneeze or cough, try doing it into your (left) elbow. Avoid shaking hands. If you have been in contact with someone diagnosed with COVID-19, or if you are simply feeling u...nwell yourself with any cold/flu like symptoms (fever, cough, sore throat, headache etc), please a) stay at home and b) let someone from the admin team (Bill, Darrin, Chanara, or Daniel) know. We will keep monitoring the local situation and will keep you advised of any updates or changes to the training advice.
