25.01.2022 Round 1 if the GRCA competition today. Only 1 game for Colts Cricket with A grade travelling to take on Kingaroy. B grade had a bye. And a successful trip it was, with Colts coming away with a win. Kingaroy won the toss and elected to bat. Colts struck early and regularly, dismissing Kingaroy for 102 off 22 overs. Sam Lang taking 6/10 menacing spell of bowling.... In reply with the bat, Colts finished 1/106 off 20.1 overs. Dean Walker with an entertaining 67 not out. Great effort by the whole team. 24.01.2022 Andre Brink in good form against Wests with 43 off 32 balls last Saturday. (B Grade)
24.01.2022 Some encouraging results as we move toward the half way mark of the season. Colts A grade side had another strong win against Wests on the back of some excellent individual performances. Winning the toss and batting first, Colts made 4/278 from their 40 overs. Chris Hughes 95 not out, Andrew Mallet 54 and Brandon Sauer 66 not out from 38 deliveries the main scorers. Colts were then able to restrict Wests to 7/140 off 40 overs to take the win and a bonus point from the game. ...Sam Lang with 4/35, Andrew Mallet 2/37 and Dean Chandler 1/23 off their 8 overs each shared the wickets. This coming Saturday, Colts play ladder leaders Harlequins in A grade the first match on the new Keith Manthey Oval - Turf wicket in front of the clubhouse. Should be a nice spot to watch some competitive cricket. Colts B Grade, playing Wests on Gabba 2. Wests won the toss and elected to bat setting Colts target with their 9/221 at the end of 40 overs. The wickets were shared amongst the bowling group. Great to see our young brigade stepping up with Hayden Andreassen - 2 wickets, Josh Armstrong some tight bowling and Rhys Jenkins excelling in the field. In reply, Colts just fell short in the run chase to finish 6/211 off 40 overs. Adrian Fish with 65 and Troy Andreassen 51 continued their recent good form. It was a spirited effort that made for exciting cricket in the dying overs. A great positive attitude to the game. www.coltsgympie.qld.cricket.com.au to check out the results.

22.01.2022 Hi All, Just a quick reminder for tomorrow regarding everyone's responsibility in regards to Covid -19 regulations. The GRCA Covid Plan has been developed using... Cricket Australia guidelines to ensure we do not breach Covid - 19 restrictions so it is imperative we adhere to the plan to avoid our competition possibly being shut down if we are not compliant. 1. All participants/Volunteers/Umpires to sanitise hands on arrival and at the completion of matches (GRCA will provide hand sanitiser but it is recommend you also carry your own in your kit bag) 2. Fielding teams ensure 1 designated player resets the stumps as umpires are not required to do so to ensure their protection. 3. All players, officials, staff and visitors to a venue or training session are encouraged to subscribe to the Government’s COVID-19 tracing app or ensure the contact tracing registry supplied by GRCA is completed on arrival at GRCA facilities. 4. It is highly recommended that every forty (40) minutes (or at a stoppage prior to the forty-minute mark i.e at a drinks break), play is to be stopped so that the ball can be cleaned with an antimicrobial alcohol-based wipe. This process is also to be completed at the fall of each wicket and during scheduled breaks in play. This is to be completed by the bowling team captain under the supervision of the umpire or Team coach or match manager for Junior Matches. 5. Showers are not to be used in the change rooms. 6. Follow recommended signage regarding hygiene and social distancing procedures. Remember no physical contact and no sweat or saliva on the ball. 7. Do not attend GRCA sanctioned events if you are unwell. 8. At the taking of a wicket, or at the end of a session/drinks break, the player who last fielded the ball will be responsible for placing it next to the stumps at the end of the pitch where the next ball/over will be bowled. 9. It is recommended that scoring is completed by e-scoring via an individual tablet. The designated scorer should ideally be the only user of that device and will be responsible for uploading the data, either live or at the conclusion of the match. Should another user be required to score, the device must be sanitised prior to the next user operating the device. Should a paper scorebook be required, to minimise additional contact there should ideally be only one-person utilising the book throughout the duration of the match. Should someone else be required to score, that person should supply their own pen. If another pen isn’t available, the original pen must be sanitised prior to the next scorer using it. Umpires will not be required to physically handle the book but will verify the details visually. Scorers should adhere to physical distancing requirements (1.5m apart) at all times when undertaking their duties. To facilitate this requirement, two separate tables should be set up, one for each scorer, as a single table will not ensure physical distancing parameters. 10. Cricket equipment not to be shared including bats. Please note: The GRCA Covid - 19 Officer takes no responsibility for any breach of recommended Covid 19 standards as legal liability for breaches of Covid safe behaviour sits with individuals who do not comply when attending GRCA sanctioned events. Failure to adhere to Covid safe protocols will result in action being imposed by the GRCA, including expulsion from the competition.

21.01.2022 Another mixed bag of results for Colts yesterday with a win in A grade and a loss in B grade, against Valleys. A grade kept their solid form going with a comprehensive win. Playing on Kozy, Colts bowled first, and rolled Valleys for 78 of 16.4 overs. Sam Lang 6/28, Chris Hughes 3/17 and Andre Brink 1/33 the only bowlers required. In response Colts made 3/80, off 13 overs to claim the bonus points. Brandon Sauer 31 not out and opening partner Jye Robinson 19 the main contrib...uters. Well done team B grade on Spencer, were sent into bat on the green top and unfortuntely lost steady wickets to be all out for 66 off 25, thanks to some very persistent tight bowling from the Valleys attack. Adrian Fish, the best of the batters with 17. In response Valleys bashed the required runs out in 6 overs, with James Loose powering a rapid 56, before Valleys finished at 2/67 to also claim some bouns points. You can check on all the results at http://coltsgympie.qld.cricket.com.au Or download the mycricket app.

19.01.2022 A great day for Colts Cricket Club yesterday winning both A and B grade grand finals.
19.01.2022 An excellent day for Colts Cricket Club last Saturday, with both teams taking on Harlequins at One Mile. The first highlight was to welcome some new players to the club, which saw us field two full sides despite a number of our regulars unavailable for various reasons. A grade won the toss and sent Harlequins in to bat on hot afternoon. Quinn’s made 8/191 off their 40 overs with 82 not out to Owen Dugdale. Anthony Smerdon, returning to the role of captain and the bowling ...crease taking 3/16 off 8 overs and Chris Hughes 2/27 off 8 leading the bowling. In response Colts made a promising start, then stumbled a bit to be 6/68 before Hughes with 80 not out, Smerdon 27, Andre Brink 17 and Justin Chandler brought it home to score 8/192 off 39 overs. B grade took on Harlequins on Jack Ison Oval. Harlequins winning the toss and electing to bat. Colts’s bowlers Joel Hughes and Jim Ebert making early in roads to the Quinn’s top order, before new player Usman Khokhar taking 4/8 off 4 overs and Evan English 3/8 off 4 overs had Harlequins all out for 53. In response Colts made 2/54 with Adrian Fish 32 not out. Well done both teams. Don’t forget you can see on the game results at www.coltsgympie.qld.cricket.com.au or download the MyCricket App for Android or IPhone and follows Colts Gympie to see all our upcoming matches, player stats and game results.
19.01.2022 A good weekend for Colts Cricket, with both teams getting the win over Harlequins. A grade, playing on Spencer won the toss and sent Harlequins in and dismissed them for 84 off 25.5 overs. Andrew Mallet picked up a five fa, with 5/16 off 6.5 overs, and Sam Lang 3/6 off 4 overs the wicket takers. In response Colts, scored 3/90 off 9.2 overs to take the double bonus point win. Brandon Sauer with 49 and Haydn Mitchell 27 not out, the best of the batters.... The win leaves Colts in a very strong ladder position at the mid way point of the season, with 1 more game before the end of year break. Well done team. B grade, also recorded a much need win over Harlequins, playing on Gabba 1. Harlequins won the toss and elected to bowl. Colts made steady progress to complete their 40 overs with a score of 6/197, with Troy Andreassen 66 not out and Justin Chandler 33 not out the best of the batters. Rain intervened at the break and resulted in a new target of 166 off 36 overs. However Harlequins were dismissed for 87 off 32 overs, with John Robinson 3/9 off 6 overs, and Josh Cumner 2/5 off 4 overs, and Andre Brink 1/8 off 7 overs the best of the bowlers.

17.01.2022 Last Saturday night we celebrated our successful season (2 premierships and T20 trophy) with our Presentation Night function at the Jockey Club Hotel. Congratulations to all our award winners, including our newest Life Member - Paul Mitchell. Thankyou to all our players, members, supporters, volunteers and sponsors who attended or supported us during the season.
17.01.2022 Big day of finals cricket yesterday for Colts Cricket Club, with our A grade team led by Anthony Smerdon taking on minor premiers Murgon for a spot in the Grand Final at Murgon. Our B Grade side who finished in fourth after the home and away season, took on Valleys on Gabba 2 in the sudden death elimination final. In the A grade match at Murgon, Murgon won the toss and choose to bat. Colts made excellent progress having Murgon 3/13 early and then 5/79 at the drinks break (2...0 overs). However Ashley Sippel frustrated the Colts bowlers and made 111 not out, to lead Murgon to 9/206 off 40 overs. Dean Chandler taking 3 wickets, and handy run outs from Chris Hughes and Dean Walker kept Colts in the game. The Colts batting innings featured lots of contributions, but unfortunately no one player was able to go on and make a really big score, with Dean Walker, 33 the top scorer in the Colts total of 9/186 off 40 overs. 206 was always going to be a difficult chase against a high quality bowling outfit. Colts put up a very strong performance in a excellent game of cricket. The results show how close these two teams are. Colts A grade now takes on the strong finishing Harlequins in the Preliminary Final next Saturday in Gympie, and we hope will book a place for the a rematch against Murgon in the grand final. With 3 teams left in the A grade finals series, all playing a high quality of cricket, there is bound to be some entertaining action worth watching. B Grade went into the Elimination Final yesterday as underdogs against Valleys, having not won against them all season. Valleys won the toss and sent Colts into bat. Colts attacked from ball 1, with new opening combination of Andre Brink (59) and John Robinson putting the Valleys bowlers under pressure early. An unfortunate run out, saw Robbo dismissed for 7 but that brought Josh Cumner (75) to the crease and more strong hitting and aggressive running getting Colts to 2/97 off 14 overs. Troy Andreassen (19) and Justin Chandler (48 not out) helped to get Colts to 7/230 off 40 overs. Valleys started their innings with aggressive batting, however our bowlers toiled well, and then took regular wickets to dismiss Valleys 173 in 35 overs. Troy Andreassen 3/9 and Justin Chandler 2/9 the best of the bowlers. So B grade force their way into a Preliminary Final next Saturday against Wests, on the field next door to our A grade team. Should be a great day of cricket. GO COLTS THANKS to all our sponsors for their continued support. Jockey Club Hotel Oakvale Homes EXM Concreting McIntosh Meats Fisherman's Haul
17.01.2022 The score card from yesterday's A grade - Colts vs Murgon at One Mile is now available on MyCricket or via the Colts Cricket Club web page. http://coltsgympie.qld.cricket.com.au/home.aspx? Another solid performance from Colts although we went down at the hands of last years grand finalists. Colts won the toss and sent Murgon into bat on a firm pitch. Murgon setting a target of 210 for Colts to win after scoring 8/209 off their 40 overs including J. Webber with 97. Haydn Mi...tchell taking 4/20 with the ball. Colts has a shaky start, before making their way to 3/90 at the 20 over mark, thanks to a fine 49 from Gary McClintock. Adrian Fish with 38 and Chris Hughes 34 kept Colts in the chase. However a fine spell of bowling from S.Polzin from Murgon with 6 maidens in a row, put the target just a little to far our of reach and kept the pressure on the Colts batsman who finished at 6/185 off 40 overs. Overall it was a strongly contested match, played in a great spirit, which went down to the final over. Well done team.

07.01.2022 G'day Everyone, With season 2020/21 on the horizon, I am calling on some helpers to tackle a few odd jobs this Saturday morning (September 5th) from 7:30am, as ...listed below. 1. Install insulation to the underside of the clubhouse front veranda roof. (With the clubhouse now air conditioned this will create a perfect summer hideaway to watch some cricket.) 2. Vital repairs and safety upgrades to our training nets. (Install netting to limit stray balls returning out the bowling end of the net, install ropes to prevent balls heading over the top of the net dividers, install screening to the rear of the nets for greater visibility, repair bowling run ups.) 3. Other odd jobs Sheppo cooks up. Can you please text Brad (0409 424 577) or comment below if you are available to help out, as it would be hoped that this would be in the interest of the whole cricket playing community. This event will be cancelled if there is a lack of helpers to not overburden a small group of volunteers on the day, meaning all cricketers miss out.
07.01.2022 Congratulations to our T20 side for last night winning the inaugural GRCA T20 Bash with a win over Harlequins at Albert Park.
