Congratulations students from Dance Express Mackay. So fantastic to be able to once again hold our Comdance exams face to face. The examiners feel very privileged to be able to watch the students perform.
24.01.2022 A little normal has returned to our Comdance Queensland family. We are conducting the first exams after our Covid 19 shutdown. Here are the beautiful students from Leisa Payne School of Dance in Mackay with our wonderful examiner Mrs Carolyn Gilby. Im sure you were all beautiful. Its so nice to be back and Im looking forward to seeing lots more photos of your exams over the next couple of months.

Introducing our next exciting workshop for you to join in with. We are so excited to offer you an open Tap workshop with the fabulous Chris Jordan on Sunday May 31st.. This workshop is open to any student who studies tap - it will not be a syllabus workshop but a fun and exciting workshop be part of. Dust off your tap shoes and find a suitable floor to work on and here we go. Chris is currently the Creative Director of "Those Tap Guys" and has worked consistently both Nationally and Internationally. He started his Tap Dancing career as part of Raw Dance Companies "Raw Metal" in 2003. Along with playing the young Peter Allen in The Boy from Oz, Gavroche in the 10th Anniversary tour of Les Miserable and Sammy in Jolson Chris has a long list of professional performances to his name. We are also proud to say that Chris contributed to some of the choreography in our Comdance New Tap Syllabus. Chris has dedicated most of his career to teaching tap technique / choreography throughout Australasia. His has a passion for passing on his knowledge and sharing his love of dance with his students. His classes are usually filled with laughter as he believes that having fun creates the perfect learning environment. I am sure at this time we are all in need of this wonderful enthusiasm for dance. Dear Members COMDANCE through our Queensland Organizer, Helen Twist, is very excited to offer to you and your students an online workshop with our fabulous Jason Winters. It is a workshop for all of your students whether they do the Jason Winters Contemporary Syllabus or not. This workshop is not a syllabus workshop but a chance to participate in this wonderful genre. Jason is so inspiring and we love what he does and his philosophies so would love to share the joy with you for your enjoyment and also your students. There is a small charge - this is to cover Jasons fee - we feel it is so important to support our artists who are also doing it tough in this environment. Below is a link to a form for you to send to your students for them to email back to Helen Twist with a copy of their receipt of payment - this is to allow them access to the Zoom room. JASON Winters is coming to teach his fabulous Contemporary Syllabus dances, Miss Breen OAM and Janine Tirant -creators of the new and exciting Tap Syllabus- will be teaching the tap exam dances and the wonderful girls trained by Rachelle Conroy - co creator of our Modern Jazz syllabus will be there for the Modern Jazz exam Dances. 04.01.2022 After much deliberation we have cancelled both the Mackay and Warwick workshops due to our current happening with the Covid-19 virus. I felt it was the most re...sponsible thing to do to try to slow this virus down. We were very sad to do this but think in the long run it is the right thing to do. We will still be running exams as usual as we are wanting to support all of our small business dance schools. Unfortunately in a situation like we have now many small businesses will suffer so anything we can do to help we will. This will also give the students something positive to focus on. I know everyone is doing the right thing with regards to the requirements to keep all students and staff as safe as possible. We are always here to help if we can. Please look after yourselves. I am looking forward to when we can all get back to normal. Please also support your dance school and I look forward to our students shining.
