24.01.2022 Other things on the 2020 CF agenda: more location shoots like this one where we stuck a bunch of photographers on the bus we hired and explored Mannysland. @carvingagiant

23.01.2022 NEXT EVENT - JAN 21 Q&A PANEL WITH @flossyphoto, @keepercreative & @peggysaas 2020's here and that means so is the first CF event of the year! Kicking of at 5pm on the 21st we'll have those three amazing photographers (and equally as amazing people) answering your questions about all things wedding photography More deets, and tickets, in bio!

22.01.2022 MARCH EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT! This is one of our big ones for the year - we're back at Nanga on March 16 for another Getting Handsy with Common Folk one-day event! We've got styled model shoots, couples shoots, and this year we're adding in presentations where @parishawkenphoto, @cjwilliams_photography & the good-half of @throughthewoodsweran are going to smash through all their hottest wedding tips and a Q&A sesh. Add in dinner, byo drinks, night-time hangs and optional sleepover if you feel like it - and now you know why it's one of our fave events for the year. And it's only $350. Legit. Tickets & deets http://commonfolk.com.au/march-16-get-handsy-at-nanga - from last year's Nanga event by @carvingagiant

21.01.2022 Can we all just appreciate how freaking awesome @jamessimmonsphotography & @stille_by_olivia's ISOlyfe series is. Kind of makes us wish lockdown wouldn't end. Petition to just make them keep doing it every Friday regardless of lockdown status.

20.01.2022 Muchos thanks to the 50+ peeps that came out last night to hear what @keepercreative, @peggysaas & @flossyphoto had to say in response to a whole heap of awesome questions that you guys had for them. We'll be announcing our Feb & March events in the next week - but defs make sure your camera batteries are charged & the diary is clear for March 16!

19.01.2022 A little BTS action of last year's Nanga event via @keepercreative who lazily just snapped some epic shots with her iPhone somehow. This week we'll be sharing what the speakers are going to speak about (hint: pretty much everything that will help you with your wedding photography & couples) - in the meantime you should definitely grab tickets because they're cheap af for this kind of thing (deets in bio) @ Nanga Bush Camp

16.01.2022 Our last event was only in March but it feels approximately two years ago - but here's one of many epic images from @light.the.love.weddings. We're working on some new plans to do way more CF sessions and get them on the interwebs... currently got about 80 tabs open figuring out the best way to do it - there's too many options! Model: @ellacarstens HMUA: @theprettyparlour Dress: @noabridalstudio... Photo: @light.the.love.weddings Event: @clubcommonfolk See more

15.01.2022 SPEAKER INFO: Okay in all honesty I'm planning on cramming every dumb thought I have about shooting a wedding day into my timeslot - so no way is that gonna fit in this tiny lil' IG caption. Basically I'm (oh yeah ps "I'm" = 1/2 of @throughthewoodsweran) picking apart allllll the things that make up a day of shooting weddings (and getting your kind of peeps to book you) and throwing tips out there faster than you Australians seem to be stocking up on hand sanitiser at the mom...ent. Oh and a pretty big focus on how to make awkward couples less awkward when you're all up in their grill with your camera (without using Beloved-style prompt things cos that is defs not my jam). Full deets about our March 16 Nanga event on the site (link in bio) - basically though it's me, @cjwilliams_photography & @parishawkenphoto speaking all things shooting-wedding-tips, and then bulk hands-on shooting and live demos with some glorious faces. Then dinner, drinks, and feel free to crash the night if you want. For $350. That's stupidly cheap. I feel like it's weird to say something is stupidly cheap but $350 is stupidly cheap - so get on it. See more

15.01.2022 Two weeks until our first event of 2020 - where we'll be smashing questions at photog extraordinaire @peggysaas (and @keepercreative & @flossyphoto). Plus if you come to one of our events, you get to hang with everyone after in our 300-peeps-and-growing ultra-cool* FB group for wedding photographers. (*not at all cool - but it is super helpful) Deets & tix in bio

12.01.2022 We hit up @georgiaverrells about how she gets shots like this during first dances (cos we have to know!) and she said she always aims back at the guests to get them in the shot, hands her flash to someone in the front of the crowd, then just does her thing and hopes the couple do something amazing like this. Works for us! We're gonna try to feature more images from peeps with a bit of a 'How'd they do it' every week so... look out for that I guess

11.01.2022 "I was thinking about doing something along the lines of ‘how I keep shit as simple as I can’" Well - no point us overcomplicating what @cjwilliams_photography is going to speak about at the next Nanga event. Want to steal what makes Carly so awesome (or figure out why so many of her clients have such awesome dogs?) - then see you March 16 where Carly, @parishawkenphoto & @throughthewoodsweran will be sharing their stuffs, followed by bulk real shoots, dinner, drinks, hang times etc - deets via link in bio!

07.01.2022 FEB EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT How do you deal with anxiety as a wedding photographer? It's easy if you're a bride: you can just drink, or get photos with animals (I guess we could *also* drink but maybe not on the way to the bridal prep..?). Anyway - Wednesday Feb 26 we've got @jillianmchughphoto talking about all things dealing with anxiety on the day (and making it your bitch), and @melissamillsphotographer talking about giving yourself the freedom to create what’s really in your heart (especially when you feel like you aren’t currently expressing yourself to your full potential). It's gonna be a good one. Tickets & deets at http://commonfolk.com.au/feb26-real-talk

05.01.2022 Our Feb 26 event deets are up and @melissamillsphotographer is coming along to talk about reaching for your creative potential and what steps to take if you're feeling a bit meh about not being there yet, as well as what gets her all inspired to create images both professionally and personally (and lots more but you'll have to come to hear about it - as well you'll hear from @jillianmchughweddings who you can check our last post to see what she's talking about) Deets & tickets in bio

05.01.2022 Bring on this Monday when @parishawkenphoto is going to be flinging gold nuggets of wisdom at everyone's faces at our Nanga event - including how to stay passionate in your biz. $350 tickets still available for a wedding photography tips barrage via @parishawkenphoto, @cjwilliams_photography & @throughthewoodsweran followed by styled model & couple shoots, dinner, drinks, and bulk hangs

04.01.2022 50% of our ticket sales for our Jan 21 event will be going to WIRES who are doing amazing things for the fire affected animals over east. It's so so great to see so many in the photography community (and every community) donating or raising money directly for the different charities that are helping those impacted by what's going on and helping out wherever possible Event deets in bio. Happy wedding animal photos by @throughthewoodsweran cos I've seen too many sad ones for today

02.01.2022 It's really hard coming up with the right superlatives for @keepercreatives work - so instead we'll just dump a bunch of her images so we can point out that she's one of the panellists (right alongside @flossyphoto & @peggysaas) at the next CF Event next Tuesday 21 that your should definitely come to Tix & deets in bio

01.01.2022 Was thinking about writing a big long caption about the 2010's and how crazy it is that CF wasn't a thing at the start of it, and how much everyone has done... but fuck it - have an awesome new year all, stay safe, and bring on the real roaring '20's @danoday
