05.01.2022 Workplace Security during the Corona Virus As we face the challenges of moving into Stage 3 lockdown restrictions, the far-reaching impacts of the COVID-19 virus on everyone in our community is evident. During this time, it is important to stay vigilant in relation to security, particularly at the workplace. It has been reported recently with many buildings being unoccupied due to forced closures that crimes are taking place. It is paramount that considerations are given to t...he security of these premises in these circumstances. Please ensure you continue to maintain proper lighting, remove valuables or lock them in a proper safe, lock desks, filing cabinets and ensure portable electronic equipment is secure. Ensure anything that may be appealing or appear to be of some value, remains out of sight to potential criminal activity. Ensure any exterior lights on the property including any gardens & lawns are well lit and consider inexpensive options for upgrading this with solar lighting etc. It is also important, where possible, to conduct regular site visits of any unoccupied property at different times of the day to check all remains in order. #staysafe #stayathome #coronacrisis See more

03.01.2022 Many candidates ask me about salary packaging - Salary packaging (also known as salary sacrifice) is an arrangement between you and your employer where you pay for some items or services straight from your pre-tax salary. You can salary package many things including computers, cars, childcare and super, to name a few. This can reduce your taxable income and put more money in your pocket. Your employer pays fringe benefits tax (FBT) on the benefits provided to you. Some of these benefits will be listed on your end-of-year payment summary and are used to assess your Medicare levy surcharge, tax offsets, child support payments and other government benefits. You must enter into a salary sacrificing arrangement before you earn the income. It can never be retrospective.
