23.01.2022 http://news.sky.com//inflatable-incubator-creator-wins-dys Many premature babies go on to have speech and language delay. Here is a wonderful invention that could save the lives of babies born too early, particularly those in developing and war-torn countries.

13.01.2022 Hello Everyone, Today we celebrate World Prematurity Day and I will be in Philadelphia for a special event with March of Dimes to mark this very important occas...ion. I’m so proud to represent such an incredible organisation and support the research they are funding to further understand the reasons why so many babies are born too soon. By now many of you will have seen the image I created of tiny baby Alfred, born prematurely in February this year, at 32 weeks, weighing just 2 lb 6 oz (a little under 1.2kg) This image was created especially to commemorate World Prematurity Day, making little Alfred (now a happy and healthy 8 1/2 month old) a global icon for the incredible work carried out every day in NICU Units around the world. There was a wonderful and gratifying response to our Facebook posting of Alfred’s image last week - so many incredible stories flooded in from families across the globe all wanting to share their own personal journeys with preemie babies. Keep these stories coming, because it’s so important for families who are presently going through such a traumatic time to know that they are not alone. Thankfully little Alfred survived his early birth, but each year over 1 million babies don’t. Every baby deserves a chance at a healthy start in life. Let’s all support March of Dimes in their continuing quest to end premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality. And I’m sure everyone will enjoy this image of baby Alfred today XO Anne
13.01.2022 Today is World Prematurity Day. Sadly around the world 15 million babies are born too soon, and nearly 1 million of these babies die annually. Many who survive go on to have developmental delays including speech and language difficulties. Visit http://www.prembaby.org.au/worldprematurityday/ to donate to help advance the research into premature births.

Craft is a great language learning activity - practice following and giving instructions, talk about concepts such as colours, sizes and shapes and don't forget to take photos as you go so you can give a recount to family and friends!
