15.01.2022 Did you see us in today’s Geelong Advertiser? Former Geelong Cats great Andrew Bews, and our Communities That Care Australia Coordinator Louise McDonald, had their IDs out with Sarah Naylor from the Geelong West Giants to raise awareness of a new campaign to reduce early age alcohol use. The campaign is asking local venues who sell alcohol to consider asking all customers for ID. Copies of the poster will be distributed at no cost to local alcohol outlets including sportin...g clubs. To access a copy contact Louise McDonald at BCYF on 0418 210 865 or email [email protected]. For more information on BCYF visit bcyf.org.au. 07.01.2022 A very interesting video share of last night's webinar with Penny Dakin and Rebecca Goodhue from The Australian Research Alliance for Children and Youth (ARACY) Australia on "A Common Approach to Children's Wellbeing"? ARACY works to progress and promotes evidence-based programs and strategies to improve the wellbeing of #children and #youngpeople. By collaborating with researchers, policymakers, and practitioners, ARACY turns what works into practical, #preventativeaction. The video: https://lnkd.in/gCaTKxD

07.01.2022 New Resources: Reframing Adolescence and Adolescent Development Frame Works Institute - How we say things is as important as what we say, especially when we are trying to change thinking and policy to better serve children, young people and families. This toolkit is a resource for communicators who want to change the narrative about adolescence and adolescent development. We should use this Core Story as often as possible in all public facing materials. It includes all of the well-framed information people need to understand, to support and even to demand policies that would improve the lives of all adolescents.
