25.01.2022 #NOISEALERT || Shout out to the residents of Perth and Bunbury! Some of our troops will be conducting training over the next week in your area. There will be helicopters flying at night and early in the morning, at a low altitude. Please ensure you let your family, friends and any neighbours know that this training will be occurring.... This training is part of #AusArmy's regular training schedule and is designed to ensure #OurPeople are operating at the highest level of capability to respond where required, to support Australia's national interests. We acknowledge that these activities may result in disturbances to local residents. This disruption will be minimised wherever possible. You should not be alarmed if you see low-flying helicopters or hear the associated noise. We appreciate the support of the local community during this important training period. The training is being conducted in a manner that accounts for COVID-19 restrictions and good health management processes. Individuals with concerns should contact Defence via: 1300 333 362. https://www.army.gov.au//australian-defence-force-counter- Western Australia Police Force City of Nedlands

21.01.2022 Mosquito Alert Warm, wet weather is causing a spike in mosquito activity across the South West and a higher-than-usual percentage of them have been detected carrying Ross River virus. While the Shire undertakes monitoring in certain areas, it is important to protect yourself and your loved ones. Avoid outdoor exposure, especially at dawn and in the early evening Wear long, loose-fitting, light-coloured protective clothing... Apply an effective repellent Make sure children are protected with clothing, bed nets or insect screens Remove water holding containers around the home to prevent breeding Use coils, lanterns and barrier sprays around the house Install and maintain insect screens Use nets and mosquito proof tents if sleeping outside For more information about mosquito prevention visit: http://healthywa.wa.gov.au/Healthy.../Prevent-mosquito-bites See more

02.01.2022 National Recycling Week - 9th to 15th November Every Shire, city, suburb, will have different bins that they provide the people that live in their areas, but the recycling requirements for the bins are still the same. Here is a couple of easy to follow and understand lists from the Augusta Margaret River shire Website. Here is the link if you would like to look to look for any other information https://www.amrshire.wa.gov.au//AM201132_BWEB_National_Rec... Every City or Shire office will have an online website that you can look at and find some amazing links to happenings in your area and beyond. If you do not have access to the internet, I am sure your local shire office would be able to give you some printed information. Or maybe it is something CHC can assist you in doing. Happy Recycling not just for this week but for 365 days of the year.
