20.01.2022 If anyone watched My House Rules tonight, you would see that the teams are doing the renovation for a nano house (small house) for Wentworth Community Housing (NSW). I don't like the fact that the Community Housing sector seems to now have gone commercial in this aspect AND put the prospective tenant onto the show to advertise who he is. I am wondering, considering more likely than not, the property this small house is on was/is a Public Housing property handed over to them by the state government AND they would have received $M in funding from both state and federal governments, who is paying for the renovation? Double dipping if you ask me ...

19.01.2022 This post is from Marlee Bower, Sydney Uni Hi everyone, We at Sydney University are running a survey investigating the impact of COVID-related changes on the lives of Australians. We want to show policymakers how 2020 has impacted some groups more than others and advocate for better support for these groups now and into the future. We think that Australians living in public and community housing may have been particularly affected by COVID-19, but have a lack of evidence as we haven't had enough residents complete the survey. If you live in community or public housing and have been impacted, positively or negatively by COVID-19 please do our survey : bit.ly/alonetogetherC19

18.01.2022 Let's hope this does NOT take off here. I know that I would NOT like my Landlord unlimited access to my home ... the one I pay rent to live in..... https://www.gizmodo.com.au//amazons-alexa-for-landlords-i/

17.01.2022 If you have any questions re renting, you can go and ask here

17.01.2022 The Andrews Gov announced today there is to be no rent increases before 31 Dec 2020.

16.01.2022 I thought I might start a positive post on the advantages of living in Community Housing.I will start: I have a roof over my head and some of the best neighbours PS: if you feel the need to talk through an issue, PM me and I will get back to you as soon as I can if I am not "here"

10.01.2022 Thank you Nabil for this

08.01.2022 An interesting read and it looks like the writer would like some feedback (at the bottom of the page) https://probonoaustralia.com.au//housing-all-australians-/

08.01.2022 Property managers and agents must understand the new process for rental disputes. See our 5 steps to help landlords.

03.01.2022 Thank you Martin

03.01.2022 This has now hit our shores after it happening in England for years (Comm Housing started in England and we copy them) Here is Haven advertising a 1 bedroom unit in Geelong with a Kitchenette and a shared kitchen for $240 p/w. A minimum rent instead of income based. Now this has started with no ramifications from the Government (who provide land and $ to these groups to house low income tenants) People on welfare will not be able to afford this: https://havenhomesafe.org.au/listi/unit-17-3-smythe-place/

01.01.2022 For those of us living in Victoria ... I thought I would send a link showing that our Landlords are not allowed (by law) to put the rents up from 29 March - 29 Sept 2020 ... they can't evict for non payment of rent if you are affected by the covid 19 ... Please read through this so you are aware. If you need legal advice, either email the tenants union, phone consumer affairs, see a lawyer at a community centre near you or ask here. Someone may just know the answer. https://justiceconnect.org.au//how-does-covid-19-affect-v/
