17.01.2022 Community services workers often experience high rates of insecure employment and struggle to reach a long service leave entitlement. This means that many workers miss out on taking a well-earned break. This is about to change. From 1 January 2021, Queenslanders working in community services will be eligible to register for a portable long service leave scheme. Workers will accrue long service leave benefits based on their length of service in the industry, not the length... of time with their employer. Workers can then claim a long service benefit after recording seven years of service with QLeave. The scheme will support the industry to attract and retain skilled and experienced workers. QLeave is the statutory authority administering the scheme. Visit the QLeave website to access FAQs, information about how the scheme works, who’s eligible, and what workers and employers need to do to register with the QLeave. https://buff.ly/3nLqw0g #portablelongserviceleave #communityservices
