Not everyone can/ wants to work and the cost to administer the beuracrartc failing welfare system is too great including the cost to affected communities and families. "Women could not dr...ink in public bars with men. The word 'public' did not apply to women back then," documentary maker Catherine Dwyer told ABC Radio Perth. Women could drink in pubs, but only in side-rooms known as the ladies lounge. "But they had to pay more in the ladies lounge for their drinks, even though they got 75 per cent of a man's wage."
