25.01.2022 Are you considering getting back to the gym? Here is a small word of warning from physiotherapists to make sure you don't end up on one of our plinths!

24.01.2022 This 'World Physiotherapy Day' we would also like to thank our amazing team for all the valuable work they do in our community. Your efforts do not go unnoticed!

24.01.2022 Not exactly physio related, but still a great resource for some of our parents whose little ones are a bit afraid of the Dentist.

23.01.2022 Happy first day of spring and first day of #steptember2020! Our clients driveway gave us quite the spring welcome this morning, with these stunning cherry blossoms lining our entrance! #mobilephysio #cerebralpalsyawareness #moveyourbody #springtime #outsideisfree... @steptemberau

23.01.2022 Phew, what a week of Professional Development! We held Journal Club Tuesday night. Jess is continuing her futher study in rural health care. Annie attended the virtual Phillips 'Cough Assist' Webinar, Grace attended a virtual Paediatric training day put on by the John Hunter Hospital and Linc is just about to finish his MBA.... On top of that we met as a team for our fortnightly Clinical Collaboration meeting! It's nice to have so many remote learning opportunities available for rural professionals at the moment. #alwayslearning #professionaldevelopment #keepinguptodate #physiotherapy #scientificresearch #remotelearning #virtualtraining

23.01.2022 For some of our NDIS clients who aren't able to stand on their own we might suggest a standing frame. For those who don't know, these are some of the reasons to STAND and the attached link has some ideas of what to do while you stand in your frame to make it more fun! Every minute standing is therapy time!... https://www.facebook.com/434946673232532/posts/3202716529788852/?sfnsn=mo See more

22.01.2022 Let us introduce you to one of the assessment tools we use for some of our little ones. The Peabody Developmental Motor Scale Version Two (also known as the PDMS-2) is a paediatric specific assessment tool used for children from birth to almost 6 years age. It can be used by physiotherapists and occupational therapists. This test can assess six areas of children’s development: - Reflexes... - Stationary - Locomotor - Object Manipulation - Grasping - Visual-Motor Integration In layman terms, it looks at gross motor skills (including moving, balance and ball skills) and fine motor skills (hand use and hand-eye coordination). This test is useful as it was developed on a large population of children who had age appropriate skills. When we assess and score your child we can determine where their areas of difficulty are to target our therapy and intervention in combination with your goals. Check out the video below to see some of the tests in action.

20.01.2022 Will you be a F.A.S.T hero? Having a stroke can cause significant and permanent disability. Fortunately in many cases a stroke can be treated if a person receives treatment EARLY. The earlier the treatment the greater the chance of making a full recovery. The message is simple Time is Brain.... So...know the signs! Be a F.A.S.T hero. #nationalstrokeweek2020

20.01.2022 Today is the International Day of People with Disability The aim is to increase public awareness, understanding and acceptance of people with disability and celebrate their achievements and contributions. We are very fortunate to have a role in the community that allows us to witness and celebrate these achievements first hand.

Netflix Fireplace for that white Christmas vibe. Shoutout to the Miss Ju Ju crew for the delicious spread and our star physio/baker Grace for the amazing cupcakes!

18.01.2022 Today is World Physiotherapy day! This year, the focus is on the role physiotherapists play in rehabilitation after severe respiratory illness. We just want to take this chance to acknowledge all the great work our therapists are doing to improve the health of our community and to give a special shout out to our colleagues in the public sector who are on the front line of the COVID-19 Pandemic.... 12.01.2022 A beautiful blog post about a mum's experience with her baby and a new/unexpected diagnosis. The recount of this mother's reaction when those motor milestones were met gave us all the happy physio feelings... "I was so proud on the day Celina did her first roll. In those early days, it was a huge tick for me on her big milestones. We had spent three months of exercises, attending appointments, practicing rolling down wedges and just like that, she did it - while I wasn’t looking of course. "

12.01.2022 Today we took one of our NDIS participants to the Tamworth mountain bike park walking trails. This young man has Autism and we have found bush walking to be the perfect activity to help him keep active without being in an overstimulating environment. He enjoyed himself and even has plans to come back each week with his support worker from @challenge_services !
