17.01.2022 Last day of 2020 brace yourself for the ‘new year new you’ , juice cleanses, ‘magic’ fat loss pills & 7 minute home work outs! Well they can all take a running jump into something spiky as far as I’m concerned! So yeah we’ve all probably got a bit fatter over the last week. And I’ve had a bloody good time doing it . ... But before you get mugged off by some malnourished idiot promoting ‘fitness’, selling you some crazy restrictive diet or mental exercise regime that you hate. Ask yourself why you gained a couple of kilos. Was it because you didn’t drink your magic lemon water or do 100 burpees every day ? NOOOO!! It’s because you sat on your backside watching Home Alone & eating mince pies and/or sat on the beach knocking back beers (moved less, ate MORE.) So guess how simple it is to reverse That’s right, activity food (Negative energy balance/calorie deficit If you would like to know more specifics of your personal calorie requirements or help with a workout you actually enjoy send us a message and we can help. 14.01.2022 **EXPRESSION OF INTEREST** Selina has had her thinking cap on and is always thinking of ways we can help more more people, give people more variety in their workouts and help them stop awkwardly hovering around the weights only to wander back to the boring cardio equipment SO! INTRODUCING.... SMALL GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING (yeah alright so we couldn't come up with a better name)... What is Small Group Personal Training (SGPT)? The sessions will run very similar to a regular one on one PT session. A time will be set for the session, it will 100% tailored to you, your goals and current level. The main difference being Selina's time will be split between multiple participants. Why SGPT? SGPT offers you the chance to train along side a qualified fitness professional with the benefit of a smaller financial investment. No longer do beginners have to shy away from the weights room in fear of not knowing where to start. More experienced gym goers having doubts about form or stuck in the same old workout struggling to push through plateaus. Losing motivation. WHEN & WHERE? We are looking at starting at a one hour session per week, day and time will be decided according to interest. Once enrolled you will be added to a private Facebook group which will help all involved with motivation, accountability, tips and most importantly lots of laughs *All participants will be required to be a member of Anytime Fitness and will be eligible for reduced membership fees and zero joining fee!! 13.01.2022 This morning was the last ‘enforced’ video session. What a way to wrap up, live from Tullah, Tasmania. PT with a view. We will be back at Anytime Fitness from tomorrow . It’s actually been a fun few months, & the online sessions will still be running with a number of clients choosing to continue to train from home or wherever they may be. There’s no escaping now. 04.01.2022 The UK’s war on obesity plan looks about as effective as spitting on a house fire to put it out. Be nice one day for a fat loss campaign to include the term... calorie deficit rather than weight watchers. Who is paying for these Weight Watchers memberships too? Taxpayers? Banning advertising in a bid to reduce obesity is a bit pathetic Boris. Let’s look at smoking, you can’t legally even have cigarettes visible but it doesn’t stop people buying them. Smokers know they’re increasing their chance of cancer and preventable causes of death but they continue to smoke. Saving the NHS millions. This isn’t going to motivate your nation either I’m afraid. The elephant in the room is that the majority of the nation can not answer the question how do you lose fat? Wouldn’t it be good to have them know the answer to that rather than being fobbed off to weight watchers? Traffic light system is ridiculously moronic and will only increase disordered eating. We need to get the nation educated, not just moving more and expecting that to be enougg. You need to plug a leak before cleaning up the mess it makes or you go round in circles. You shouldn’t go to a GP for advice either. It shouldn’t be their job to do so. There are some GREAT GP’s out there. But they don’t get educated properly on fat loss, the ones doing stellar work are having to learn this out of their already busy hours (that’s fucked). With a nation told to stay home and join weight watchers, pubs open before gyms and no tangible advice from it’s leaders with regards to fat loss... Boris, I think you’re taking the piss mate. I have a free calorie calculator on my website, I have for years. Feel free to use it. The UK gov is great at a lot of things, especially butt fucking me on tax each year. BUT, when it comes to fat loss I don’t think we should be leaning on our government for sound advice. We’re gonna have to do this one together guys, educate ourselves and influence those around us. But I’m guessing they did this stuff because they enjoy it & oh yeah, they’re catrillionaires that are probably paying someone to get the kids ups, make breakfasts, lunches, tea, do the washing bla bla bla. Don’t judge your achievements and set your goals by comparing to others. They will usually be unrealistic & if your honest not really high on your priority list. Set goals that are realistic & important to YOU. Don’t compare your Tuesday morning slept in, hair scraped back, pot noodle for dinner day to someone else’s highlight real! 03.01.2022 Well done Jarrod. 10kgs down since gyms reopening. Not to mention massive strength gains. This is all down to consistency, hard work & a good mindset. Although fat loss was one of Jarrods main goals coming out of lockdown we tried not to focus on numbers too much, instead focusing on performance based goals & lifestyle adjustments knowing that the rest would fall in to place. Keep up the great work Jarrod.
