16.01.2022 HOW TO NAIL A BRAND PHOTOSHOOT Yesterday I took my own advice and had our very first branding photoshoot with the incredible @kyebobbyphotography Why was the our first photoshoot when I KNOW brand photography is so important and works to build deeper connections with our audience?! The reason - I, like many other people will happily take a million photos of every other person but cringe at the thought of being in front of the camera... alone! My tips to get out of y...our comfort zone and get confident are: Work with a photographer your comfortable with. Someone you can have a laugh with. @kyebobbyphotography was the absolute best, making me feel comfortable, making me laugh AND was full of ideas - not to mention an epic playlist! Be prepared. Write a list of shots you want! Such as launching photos, photos to have white space so you can add text, photos with any of your products / work, behind the scenes etc. This will help you know what you need so youre not wasting time and getting shots that you cant use.. that would be *awkward* Wear something your comfortable in. Im not going to lie I had 865384 outfits planned and come the day of our shoot I was not comfortable in anything except my everyday black pants and white top! 08.01.2022 Amongst all of the devastation that we are surrounded by, one thing that we feel so strongly about is that no act of kindness, no matter how small is ever wasted. We know there is a lot of debate around the right or wrong way to handle this situation, in particular businesses carrying on with their 2020 plan and/or launch of a new product. We believe there is absolutely no right or wrong way to handle this*... ** Of course within reason i.e. NOT like the service station selling 8x 1.25L bottles of water for $44!! - Totally unacceptable. BUT, after a discussion we have had with a few other businesses, one thing was made for sure - we ALL want to help in any way we can and in some cases in order for us to donate more $$$ we need to be able to continue to work. We as a family have donated money, goods and have tried to help spread the message to get as much support as possible. The truth is no one knows how to handle this situation the best. All we know is that we all want to help in any way shape or form If you are sitting on the fence about launching that new product, continuing on with your planned content etc, I believe you should be able to do it - without judgement as by doing so will mean that you are able to support your family and also support the ones who have been directly effected by this tragedy. Just remember be compassionate and mindful. Everyone feels guilty, we have been sitting on this post for a few days but as someone I just spoke to said, if we all stop working it turns our economy into an even bigger mess which makes things worse. So if you are needing to continue to work, dont feel guilty. There isnt a right or wrong. Its about being compassionate and doing what you can to support yourself, your family and the ones that have been effected.
