23.01.2022 Amazing opportunity for students to be involved with Microsoft. Microsoft is looking for Student Ambassadors across Australia. Student Ambassadors are campus leaders who bridge the gap between university and Microsoft. Apart from access to exclusive learning resources, events and swag, Ambassadors also get to work with Microsoft professionals to host events, workshops across Australia. This is an excellent way to get involved with the tech community and make connections at Microsoft. The Student Ambassador program is open to all university students and is an excellent pathway to Microsoft’s other student opportunities such as placements, internships etc. To apply & learn more: https://studentambassadors.microsoft.com/ Applications for this intake closes at Nov 30, 2020.

23.01.2022 International Women’s Day 2021: Let’s celebrate University women International Women’s Day (IWD) is celebrated annually on the 8th of March. In the lead up to this day, we reflect on progress made so far, call for change and celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women the world over. For IWD 2021, we will celebrate University of Adelaide women - staff, students and alumni - who have inspired or supported others through innovation, service, l...eadership and/or resilience during the past year. All members of the University community are invited to submit nominations. We will celebrate all eligible nominees through a collage of photographs, and summaries of their contributions and personal attributes. These will be displayed online and printed for an IWD breakfast to be held on North Terrace, Roseworthy and Waite campuses on Friday 5th March 2021. Nominate a woman who has inspired or supported you here by 5 February 2021. NB Your nominee must agree to have her photograph and summary used in the collage. https://www.adelaide.edu.au//gender-equity/international-w

19.01.2022 As a bit of a PSA: If you ever have a need to read a paper and it is behind a paywall, you may access it by appending .proxy.library.adelaide.edu.au... to the hostname, as shown with the following example for a paper requiring purchase: https://link.springer.com/cha/10.1007%2F978-3-319-09940-8_2 to https://link.springer.com.proxy.library.adelaide.edu.au//1 This will get you free access to view and download that academic paper after logging in with your uni credentials.
