24.01.2022 Hello folks! We are getting ready for the Summer and Easter Confest, and looking for some able-bodied men and women - 'A few good volunteers' to learn bush fire safety and be part of the Confest Critical Incident Team (CIT) - early December we have a dedicated training day on Saturday at CERES with official instructors. If being reliable and helpful for three to four, 4-hour shifts sound like your kind of good-deed for the community, a dedicated team, all your meals and a memorable experience await! Please leave your details on this message or directly on the wall to get in touch (https://www.facebook.com/ConfestCIT)!

24.01.2022 Team dinner tonight, active and would-be firecats, get yoself down (to the paradise city, where the trees are gums and the food is pretty)

23.01.2022 A big thank you to everyone that helped make this festival a safe one by cooking in designated cooking areas, not using tea-light candles, coils or gas torches, being respectful of the fire twirling ban via the insurance and generally making sure over 3,000 people could spend several days in 40+ degree heat. Easter will be less temperature intensive than the festival just gone, so if you are wondering how you can get a bit more involved with Confest maybe joining http://www.facebook.com/ConfestCIT would suit you! Learn about fire safety, help out First Aid and get into some trendy orange overalls every other day for 4 hours? Again and on behalf of all the CIT crew, thank you for your assistance in making this a safe and enjoyable festival!

17.01.2022 Thank you for your interest in the Confest Critical Incident Team. An exciting and personally rewarding endevour awaits you - "An experience you can't buy at a price you can afford" - please read on :) When joining the 'core' Cit volunteers we ask that you do three to four shifts of four hours across the festival, and if the sirens go off, to 'turn out' meaning that you put the gear on and join us on one of the fire response vehicles in case of emergency. ...Continue reading

14.01.2022 Easter should be a bit cooler than this :D

14.01.2022 Fire at Easter ConFest - CIT Advisory At this time of year it is important to note that the actual fire restrictions that will apply to Easter ConFest can not be determined with any real degree of precision and it is highly likely this assessment will change as forecasts and conditions change. As such fire restrictions will need be reviewed in the lead up to ConFest and over the course of the ConFest gathering.... ----------------------------------------------------------------- The combination of the early date of Easter this year and current weather and environmental conditions in the area of the ConFest site means that it is POSSIBLE that FIRE RESTRICTIONS may apply at this Easter ConFest. The official declared RFS Bushfire Season does not end until 31 March 2013, that is part way through Easter ConFest. This imposes requirements on ConFest organisers to assess and seek appropriate fire permits, to closely manage permitted fires and to assess potential fire risks carefully. As at Wednesday, 13 March 2013 the Fire Danger Rating for the Fire District which includes the ConFest site (Southern Riverina, Fire Area 18) is VERY HIGH, however a Total Fire Ban has NOT been declared. Long-range Weather Forecasts currently indicate that weather conditions leading up to and including Easter ConFest are likely to continue to be WARM to HOT and DRY with a limited outlook for any significant rainfall occurring. This means that, based on present conditions, it is POSSIBLE that FIRE RESTRICTIONS, including potentially a TOTAL FIRE BAN, may apply to all or part of the period covering of Easter ConFest this year. ----------------------------------------------------------------- From a personal point of view, as I have not yet been to a ConFest bonfire night I am hoping that any potential fire risk conditions will ease back before Easter. :Daniel CIT Chief Warden PS. If you have any fire safety or fire related questions while at ConFest please feel free to drop in to visit the volunteer crew at CIT, now located next to the First Aid tent.

14.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who helped make Easter a safe and happy festival by observing the fire requirements of no candles and cooking in designated areas - cheers to you from the volunteers of Confest CIT; If you know someone who would like to spend a few hours on shift and then on call to keep the festival safe, supporting first aid, wearing orange and getting some useful training, please share this page with them and watch out for more information.

10.01.2022 *Singing* "We didn't start the fireeee" - actually this one we did, though you won't find it at Summer confest due to the fireban situation. This was a controlled bonfire (a small one? :p) at the 2012 Easter gathering.

09.01.2022 Hi folks, we are looking forward to seeing you this festival and assisting with fire prevention like we regularly do :) Merry Christmas to you and safe travels to the festival site.

09.01.2022 Aight'.. between rain, storm and shine, we spent a few days at Confest with folks from the ConFest Volunteers that signed up, getting the vehicles in order, testing pumps and working through our equipment. Only a few months to go now folks!! Remember; safety on site is up to all of us, so no naked flames, gas lights or candles - get your solar torches and LED lights ready :)

06.01.2022 Serious stuff these fires. The following might freak you out a little, but then .. it makes a great reason not to be irresponsible with fire hey? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wW4ItqEkuWQ

05.01.2022 Here comes Easter.. getting ready for it? CIT will be doing the do again this festival; if you have been thinking about volunteering Easter is a great time for it! Generally a cooler vibe than Summer, this year our camp is integrated with First Aid and we will have a lovely village vibe going on. Have you seen what it takes to support a large festival of several thousand? Fancy yourself stepping up to do a few shifts of 4 hours, learning about fire safety, getting around... in some funky fire trucks and giving back alongside a team of experienced volunteers? We need you, you need you, the festival needs you!! Please send a message through if you want to be on the core crew (discount entry, eating at the workers kitchen and generally getting a lot of love from the punters [plus a very attractive orange onesie]). 02.01.2022 Ready for the summer festival? Can you help yourself and the other festival goers by ensuring you do not bring ANY naked flames such as candles, incense or mosquito coils to the festival? Ensure you only cook in cleared cooking circles if you must bring a gas cooker (just leave it at home!! :) + Go out and buy a few LED torches for you and those you camp with - we are all in this together remember (especially if the sh*t hits the fan!! :) Remember, we are all volunteers,... we are doing this because we believe in Confest and believe everyone has a right to a safe time where their lives are not endangered - (this picture was taken at the recent CIT training day). Please share this to help spread the message and if you see someone in orange, give them a hug !! See you on site. Best regards from Confest Critical Incident Team (CIT) (and I'm sure ConFest First Aid too) :)
