24.01.2022 It's well known that ADHD can have an impact on behaviour and learning, but one of its biggest (and often less talked about) impacts is on social interaction. Difficulties with attention can make it tough to tune into vital social cues, struggles with impulsivity make it difficult to be 'low risk' when joining in and distractibility can mean problems with keeping on track in conversations. 19.01.2022 Ever experienced this? Its a tough one. What I found particularly interesting about this article was the research around friendship drift. Around 25% of friendships in upper primary/early secondary school, naturally grow apart within a year. Friendship drift is part of growth. Time can be a great teacher. Think about letting time do its work with your childs friendships, rather than jumping in to fix it yourself.
